Happy December and Some Quilting

Hello sweet friends!!

Hope everyone has been doing well?

It is already December and the Most
Wonderful Time of The Year.

The weekend we got our tree up and decorated.
I put a few Christmas things out.  Today
I got the Christmas pillows and quilts out.
Everything is starting to look a lot like Christmas
around here.  All we need now is some snow.
Which is not likely to happen here in South Texas.

Over the weekend I got the opportunity to quilt one
of our Sew Sweet Bee Sister's quilt.

Kim asked us to make her churn dash blocks out
of blue fabric.   As you can see the one in the middle
is backwards from what Kim wanted.  Well, that
is all my fault.  I made the block and realized later
that it was not right.  Sew I decided to send it to Kim
anyway thinking she would make a pillow or something.
Kim got her quilt all laid out and sewed together at our
retreat in October and handed it off to me to do the quilting.
Kim choose Hearts n Bows for the quilting.  I am sew in
love with how it turned out.

Love and Hugs,
donna

Already February and Some Quilting

Hello sweet friends!!
February is here and Valentine's Day is right
around the corner.  Do you have your projects
ready for Valentine's Day?

This sweet heart quilt was made by my friend Carla.
Don't you just love the scrappiness of it?  The quilting
pattern I used is called Amethyst.  I love how it came
out.
If you are interested in having me quilt your quilt please
click under my header Long Arm Pricing.

Do you ever just need something simple to
do?  Well, I found these 2 vintage twin sheets
and quilted them.  I love Raggedy Ann and
Andy sew this was fun for me.  My sweet little
great nieces love them to curl under while
watching tv when they are over.

If you are doing something you love you are
never working.

Farm Girl Vintage Row Quilt

Good morning sweet friends.
Hope y'all are keeping warm?

I have been wanting a row quilt for some time,
and my BFF Carla made me this quilt top
using some of the blocks from Farm Girl Vintage.
by Lori Holt.  Yes you can say love at first site.
I am in love with everything about the quilt.
This is row 1 the Sunny Sun Flower.

Row 2 is the Scrappy Maple Leaf.
Check out the scrappy boarder.  LOVE

Row 3 is the Patchwork Pumpkin.

Row 4 are these super cute acorns and I
am in love with the squirrel.  Can you see
the rick rack she appliqued in the sashing?
Carla knows how much I love rick rack.  lol!

Row 5 is Tom Turkey.

Thank you sew much Carla there
is not a piece of fabric in this quilt that
 I do not love.

I finished quilting it on Saturday.  Now I just
have to work on the binding.  For the binding
I am choosing the Nutmeg diagonal gingham
from Lori's new line Sew Cherry 2.

Wishing y'all a beautiful day.

Sew Sweet Bee, Some Quilting and Some Flags

Happy Friday Sweet Friends!

October has arrived so quickly.  I just
wish the cooler weather would arrive with
it.  lol!

September was Peggy's month to be Queen Bee.
She asked for this block, I think it is called
Stripes?  You can find the pattern on the Penny
Rose website.  Peggy asked us to make our blocks
with Bonnie and Camille fabrics.
(I really need to learn not to take pictures at night.)

I have been really blessed to be able to do
some customer quilting.  This customer
asked for snow flakes to be quilted on her quilt.
You know I got a picture of the quilting but
not the whole quilt before I mailed it back.  Geez.
Hope you can see the quilting it was so much fun.

I am working other customer quilts right now
I will take pictures before I send them off.

While I was at retreat a couple weeks
ago I finished my flag blocks.  All I have to
do now is sew them into a quilt top.  I am
really looking forward to this one coming together.

Hope you have a beautiful weekend and that you get to do
something that you LOVE.

Hugs

I Love My Job

Good morning sweet friends.

I have been quilting away and it has been sew
much fun.  Quilting and sewing is the best job
ever.

You know I apologize I did not get the whole quilt.
Pictures have been hard to take.  We are still having
gloomy weather.

These quilts belong to Clara, you can find her on Instagram
under claralovestosew.
Clara is going to give this sweet heart quilt to her
mother.  I quilted it using Hearts A Flutter.

Clara is going to give this quilt to one of her friends.
The fabric's in these quilts are just gorgeous.   For this
quilt I used Hearts and Roses.  Thought it would be
sweet.

Well I am off to my own little bubble in quilt land.  lol!

Hope y'all have a beautiful day.

More Rain and Quilting

Happy Friday sweet Friends.
Texas is still getting a lot of rain.  In neighboring
counties people's homes are getting flood waters
in them.  It is so sad, and more rain is expected.

On a happier note.
My Sew Sweet Bee quilt from 2014 is all finished.
Each person made me a 12 inch Jacobs ladder block.
To finish off the quilt I picked some fabric's out of
the quilt and make a scrappy binding.

On my binding is where I embroider the name of the
quilt and the date.  All that is left to do is to wash it
to get the crinkly goodness.

Can you believe this customer quilt?  The stars
are beautifully done.  This was a fun quilt to quilt.
This one is definitely a labor of love.

Sweet Time Of Year

Happy Monday everyone.
This is such a sweet time of year.  Christmas is in 3 days and I am so looking forward to it.  Love being with family and friends and watching my little great niece open all her goodies from Santa.

Thought I would show you my Pam Kitty Picnic quilt all finished.  One of my friends saw it and loved it for her daughter and wants to give it to her for Christmas and asked me if I would sell it.  Sure I said.
I am so happy to have saved some of the fabrics so I think I can make another one.  I just love this panel and fabrics.

This is the quilting I did on it.  I choose daisy's because they remind me of summer.

I used swiss dots on red by Riley Blake for the back.  Just had to use a red and white gingham for the binding,  It screams picnic and I think gingham's make a great binding.

I put most of this quilt top together this weekend for my son's girlfriend.  This is going to be her Christmas present and she loves pink.  The pattern is simple so it goes together pretty fast.  It is a Bunny Hill design Simply Cottage.

I choose to use the light pink polka dot for the inner boarder and use the focus fabric for the outer boarder.  The fabrics I used are a mix of Lecien and Tanya Whelan.  Now I know I am not going to have it all finished by Christmas day.  So my thoughts are, if I just get the top finished I can wrap it up for her for Christmas and at least finish it by New Years.  I know it is last minute but what do you get a young girl that really does not want anything?

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Hugs

Western Quilt All Finished

Hello Chickadees.

Santa is checking his list, have you been naughty or nice?  LOL!

Just wanted to show you the western quilt I finished for my sister in law.  I do live in Texas but western fabrics really are not my thing, but that is ok.  My sister in law has a new  grand baby and wanted to give him a quilt for Christmas.  It turned out to be a crib size or maybe a tad bigger.

This is how I quilted it.  The pattern is so much fun and really quilted kind of fast.

Hope all of you doing well and staying warm.

Hugs,
donna

Q is for Qulting

Happy Monday sweet Chickadee's.
I have had a quilty week and it has gone by so fast.

This is a sweet  sneak peak of the sweet quilt I quilted for Heather over at Vintage Grey.  Her quilt is made up of blocks that we all made her in the Sew Sweet Bee.  All the blocks are just gorgeous and I was at aww.
Heather just added some of the sweetest hand made goodies to her shop if you have not been to her shop I highly recommend you check it out.  She sells out fast.

If you are interested in having me quilt a quilt for you I am about 2 weeks out.  Please go here to see how to prepare your quilt for quilting.

Sew Sweet Bee Started and Where Has The Week Gone

Happy Saturday!
I am not sure where this week has gone and I can not believe it is already Saturday. (whew!)

Yesterday Sew Sweet Bee started and I am so over the moon excited.  This is my first quilt bee and I am so  looking forward to sewing for everyone.

Thought I would show you a sneak peak of my quilting.  I did manage to get my Quilt Sampler 2013 quilt top on the quilt frame yesterday and do a little quilting.  Today's goal is to finish.  I am so pleased at how this quilt turned out.  The quilting design that I am using is popcorn, and I just have to say it is one of my favorite designs right now.

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,
donna.

My Quilting

We are finally getting some cooler weather here in Texas.  It is in the 40's  and the North wind is going to blow us away.  I am so happy to finally have some cooler weather so it feels so much more like Christmas outside.

Whew!  I am finished with my Circle upon a Circle quilt.  All I have left to do is bind it.

Here is a picture of the quilting I did on it.

I am not sure if all of you know,  but I have started to quilt for the public.
So I have posted a few pictures so you can see what I can do.

For more details about pricing and how to ship visit me here

This is one of the Quilts for Valor that I have done.

These hearts are on my Sweet Scrappy Love quilt.  This is just a few of the designs that I have.  There are many more to choose from and I order new ones often.

Hubby is home and it is time for hot coca and popcorn by the fire.  Hope y'all are keeping warm.

Hugs,
donna
