Well I finally finished putting together Autumn's wedding quilt.  It measures 90x107 and there are over 640
1 1/2 inch squares in this baby.  I noticed that when I layed it on the floor it is not laying to flat but I think
after it is quilted it will turn out fine.  The fabrics are all old Thimbleberries.  Had to do some speical engineering on the borders as I was running out of fabric and could not find it anywhere on the internet.  Sorry the colors are mutted they looked fine in the camera.  Whoops

This was an awesome find on Friday by Natalie (my cousin ).  She hardly paid anything for it and it is in GREAT condition.  The machine is made by Wilcox of New York.  When Natalie got home she called me to say she went on line and found that it was born in 1901.  She has the top drawer and the cover with her.
We brought it to our house for storage reasons for now.  In the top drawer there was a manuel and some things that go with the machine.  I think this is the coolest find ever.  We do not know if it is worth anything but who cares it is a really neat machine.

Close up of the machine.  All it needs is a belt and it will work fine.

Well I am hoping to get my purple machine this week.  I can not wait.  Well off to work I go tomorrow.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

We had so much fun treasure hunting in Warrenton yesterday.  It was a beautiful day for it.  Now it was in the 80's but it was breezy so it did not feel so hot.  We did not get home until almost dark.  I found this beautiful vintage pink rose table cloth.  It has a few stains but nothing that will not come out.

Oh yes I found a couple of feed sacks.  You know they are hard to find under $20.  But these 2 where bargain's.

I just love these purple crocheted pot holders.  We found a ton of these.  But I only pick out 2.

I did buy some vintage sewing notions and yards of rick rack for $1.  I have a vision to make something with an old window.  Well today is the day I sew Autumns wedding quilt together.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I got the house all picked up and cleaned so now I can have fun and not worry about house work.  I decided to pull out a couple of my quilts to bring some color into the living room.  And I kinda moved things around a little as well.

Tomorrow is a big treasure hunting day for me and I can not wait.  I am going with my quilty friends.  So hopefully I will have some wonder finds to show.  Good night for now.

I am almost done with my kitchen hot pad.  All I have to do is sew on the binding.  I wish I could your what it looks like but it is suppose to be a secret so when my secret person receives her than I can show.  But I do
want to show you what I have hanging in our bedroom.  I did this quilt in all 1930's reproduction purples.  It is out of Quilting with My Sister by Barbara Brandeburg and Teri Christopherson.  This quilt was so much fun to make.

I pulled this book out a little bit ago.  I just love to look through it.  Well I guess I better get started on my binding now.  Hope everyone has a great week.

Today was a busy but fun day.  David took me to pick out some purple automotive paint to paint my Featherweight.  I can not wait to show ya'll when it is all finished.  While we where in Rosenberg he offered to take me antiquing and you know I will never pass that up.  I found a few treasures.  I found these vintage
crocheted pot holders and some Pyrex bowls like my mom used to have.  Sorry I can not show you those right now they are the dishwasher.  I was so proud of myself everything I bought was at garage sale prices.  Yahhhhh.  David has got my Featherweight all ready to take and have it painted on Monday.  I am so excited I can not stand myself.

I did get to sew a little bit and I am almost done with the quilting on my sisters quilt.  I just take to many breaks when I am quilting.  And of course Duchess will let me know when it is time to play or go out.
Well it is time for bed.

Happy Friday everyone. I am so excited I am doing my first exchange.  So I have been playing with some
of my fabrics today. I finally decided on Swell by Urban Chicks.  I just love the pinks and reds together.
Well I guess it is time for me to do some more quilting on my sisters quilt.  You would think I would have
it finished but I worked this week and do not have to go back until Tuesday.  If I do not lolly gag around
I should finish it.

The weather has been so beautiful.  Today I got a little gardening done.  I planted purple petunia's in the front and cleaned around the sidewalk and that was enough for me.  The thing I hate about daylight savings time is that you do not realize what time it is while you are outside because it is still light.

Yesterday I was so excited when I saw the mail David was bringing in.  My fabric came in.  I love the mail.  I ordered some pieces of Delilha by Tanyn Whelan.  I just love it.  I needed to add some reds and pinks to my collection and what better pieces.

I also thought I needed this piece of Flower Sugar by Lecien.

I did get to sew and quilt this weekend as well.  What I decided to do is sew on Autumn's wedding quilt and quilt on the Dresden plate quilt I am making for my sister.  So I would sew then do a row of quilting. (and repeat)  I finally decided on a back.  And I am disappointed in the picture the colors are muted.  The backing is pink polka dots on white.  I am just in love with polka dots.  Well I guess the real point of the picture is to show you the quilting.  The quilting pattern I am using is all over feathers. I will have to show you more when I get it completed.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Finally getting to seat down at the computer.  It has been a busy day off.  Finally the new JoAnn's opened in Sugar Land today.  Today being the first day I just had to go I needed to get some of the thermal stuff you use for hot pads.  Well guess what I totally forgot to buy it.  I am so excited I joined a kitchen hot pad exchange with http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/.  Cheryll has a wonderful blog you should stop over and see her.

On my to Sugar Land I stopped at what is suppose to be a resale shop.  But the prices are a little higher.  Well I found this quilt top.  Someone has lovingly hand pieced it.  I think some of the fabrics may be feed sacks. I am sorry the picture is side ways.  I did crop everything but I am not sure what happen?  Another thing when I used to download my pictures I could highlight them all and they would download all together and now I have to download them one at a time.  So I am not sure what I have done?

This is a closer picture of the fabrics.    I just love it .  All I have to do now is figure out how I want to quilt it.

The other thing I would like to share with you is Just One Star can comfort a solider.  When I was visiting LaDonna and Diana this morning at http://asisterlyconnection.blogspot.com/  LaDonna was telling everyone about the challenge Moda is having to  piece 100 quilts in 100 days for the injured men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan.   If you are interested in doing this to help our soldiers  please go to united notions http://www.unitednotions.com/LA_just_one_star.pdf  Our son was in the Marines for a short time but currently my sweet niece that is fixing to get married in May is in the Army.  This is one of the blocks I made for the challenge.  I can not wait to mail it tomorrow. God Bless all of our men and women serving to keep us all safe.

I am so excited David help me put up a design wall now it is not perfect but it does the job.   It holds part of Autumn's wedding quilt I have been telling you about.  And once again the lighting is not very good in my sewing room.  I think I need to get David to help me figure out what to do about that.  The green seems to really pop in this picture.  But at least you can see the design.  I will try to take a better picture later.

Thought I would get a close up of the block so you could at least see the other colors.

Here is our sweet Duchess.  Sometimes she sits is the doorway of my sewing room like a little guard dog.  Well it is time to go make dinner.  I think tonight's menu will be meat load and potato patties.

Happy Saturday everyone.  Today started out organizing and cleaning out the garage.  Boy you do not realize the stuff that you accumulate.  We hauled alot stuff off.  Now there is room for more stuff. hehehehe.   I did sew a little bit on Autumn's wedding quilt.  Just can not get the grove on this quilt. I think it is all the little pieces.   It is going to worth it in the end though.   Maybe tomorrow I will have some blocks to show you.

I finished my pin board project all I need to do now is get David to hang it in the closet.  He is going to put it in our closet so I can hang my jewelry from it.

I thought the back should look pretty too.

Sorry about the final picture.  I guess the lighting in my sewing is not all that.  Well I guess I will get in the bubbles and then watch a movie with my David tonight.  Sweet Dreams.

This has been a busy week.  Did not get any sewing done didn't even get to ride my new bike.  But I must tell you about Cindy at http://retrorevivalbiz.blogspot.com/ she is having a fabulous give away.  It is the cutest birdfeeder that looks like a sewing machine.  I just love that idea.  She also makes the cutest aprons.

This is my next project.  Found it at Hobby Lobby on sale.  Thought I would paint it purple and add some purple fabic to the pin board.  The idea is to hang it in my closet and hang my jewerly on it.  I will show you more later of the completed project.

Sweet Dreams
