Here are some pictures of my sewing room I finally got it all picked up and rearranged.  Thought you might like to see it before I make a mess again.

You really can not tell but my TV is purple hehe.

My sewing table was in front of the window but it was time for a change.

Behind the closet doors is most of my fabrics and books.

I like having my cutting table in the middle of the room better so I can walk around it. You can see my sweet Duchess wanted to be in the picture too. My quilting machine seems to take up alot of my space but I love it.  I do not have much on the walls yet as you know it takes a while to collect just the right things. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I hope you get to sew.

Look what I got from Canada. Heather sent me this wonderful wall hanging.  Thank you so much Heather.  I just love it.  I joined a Winter Swap and if any of you are interested please contact Cheryll  http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/  it really is alot of fun.

This is the back of my snow wall hanging.  The farm animals are so cute.  Heather even sewed a pocket on it so I can hang it easily.

Once again my pictures fail me.  These are the pincushions I redid.  The green on the cat really pops out the dog on the right has pink fabric with little tiny roses and the round pincushion has fabric that is pale pink with tiny little roses as well.  Finally got my sewing room all put back together.  I will take pictures and share with you soon.  Hope everyone is having a great day and staying out of this heat.

Somewhat of a slacker today.  I participated in the Friday Night Sew In last night and I was suppose to post my pictures this morning but I got involved in rearranging and organizing my sewing room.   So now I can not find my camera so I took a picture from a previous post so I could show you.  I finished putting the blocks together for Blissful Day.  All I have to do now is arrange them and sew them together yehh.  I did put new fabrics in my pincushions so when I find my camera I will share the pictures with you.

Well my sewing room is a total mess and I really want to finish so I can start sewing again.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Look what I found on our road trip to Louisiana.

Well first let me tell you about this McCoy vase.  Last weekend at the estate sale that we went to I just happened to see this McCoy vase so I put it in our pile.  When they came to give us a price on each item the guy said oh look this is McCoy I say yes but there is a crack in the back so he prices it for $1 whoopee for me.    With a little love this old vase will last forever.

The tea cups where found at a flea market in Louisiana for a dollar a piece  my idea is to make pin cushions out of them.  It seems that lately I am in love with pin cushions.

These  cute little ceramic pets where also at the flea market.  I just could not pass them up. At first I only pick up one of them for a gift.  But I had to go back and get all three just thought they where to cute.  I am thinking I will replace the pin cushion in them to make the brighter.  Maybe I will get to that soon?

This little draw set was kinda hidden but I found it. (sorry there is a glare but the draw says buttons)  This will go great in my sewing room.  Can not wait to get it all fixed up.  Here and there between quilting I have been trying to declutter my sewing room.  It is still not there yet.  I can not seem to get it arranged just right.  But it will soon be there.   Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

I'm baack!

We are back in Texas.

David, Duchess and I went to Louisiana for a couple days.  We took the scenic route did a little thrifting and had a great time.  We stayed on the Butler Greenwood Plantation. The above picture is the Plantation home.
Built in 1796.  The amazing part is the original family still owns the Plantation and still lives there.  The owner is the 9th generation.  We took a tour of the home and you will not believe the original furniture is still in the house with the original upholstery.  Even the rug in the formal living room was original.  We had to walk on plastic runners because the rug was so worn.  But the vibrant color where still in the rug.  Some original clothing was on display and the owner told us that there was alot of original clothing still left in the house.  Original pictures of the past family members.  One piece of children's clothing that was saved and all the children of the age that the dress will fit has had a picture taken in the little dress.  The owner's granddaughter  is the last child so far to have her picture taken in the dress.  Her granddaughter was there we did get to meet her and I think she is in her early 20's sweet sweet family.

The Plantation has some original cottages and some new ones.  Well of course we picked the oldest one to stay in.  The Old Kitchen also built in 1796. The original brick walls where still intacked.  Of course it has been updated in the modern way.  There is a 150 foot well in one of the bathrooms bricked all the way down. There was a piece of plastic glass over it so it did not make for a good picture.  In the back was another bedroom and that was the smoke house at one time.  The wooden beems where still black and you can still smell the smoke faintly.  Along time ago the kitchen was separate from the house because kitchen fires happened more often.  So this cottage is really close to the main house.

This is the old Methodist Church in town. (St. Francesville)  The next few houses are more old houses in town that I thought where really cute.

This is the RoseDown Plantation built in 1835.  The Historic Society has it now.  But wouln't you just love to come home up this drive.  The big oak tress where just beautiful.

On our way home we stopped in Beaux Bridge and this is where we found this beautiful home.  We also did a little thrifting there I will show you more of that later when I can take some pictures.  Well I am off to my sewing room to see what trouble I can get into.

We had the best day of thrifting.  We started out visiting garage sales and we ran into one of my co-workers Nancy. She is a total sweetheart and we have fun when we get together.  Nancy and I have  the same taste so we know what each other is looking for.  While we where collecting addresses to visit the garage sales a really nice gentleman told us about an estate sale about 15 minutes away.  JackPot!

I just happen to be digging through some cloths/sheets and found this hexagon quilt.  This is the best $10 you could ever want to spend.  I looked it over and it is hand quilted but did not realize it was a star quilt until I got it home and took a picture of it.  I now real observant huh? hehe  The hexes are small 11/4 wow how this must of took someone alot of time.  I would just love to know the history but of course no one did.

The pair are my $1 finds at the estate sale.  The estate was picked over I think they have been trying to sell things for a couple of weeks now.  The genteman told us they where pretty pricey but when the went back on Sunday they we dealing more.  So by the time we got there they where really nice in the dealing department. I could not resist the little pin cushion with pink and blue roses.  The little girl was just to sweet to pass up.

The  crocheted  lace only .50cents.  Thought it would look great on my mantle so I just had to show you.

I bought 3 packages of fabrics at one of the garage sales for a dollar a piece. This is just a picture of one package.  Each package had like 6 different 1/2 yard cuts.  Could not  pass this up.  The last 7 fabrics in this picture are childern's prints that are so cute.  I think they will go nicely in a baby quilt.  Maybe I should start one.  Maybe a baby will be in Autumn's (my niece that just got married) future?

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Well I do not have any pictures to show you.  Today was my day off and I ran the roads doing errands.  I did enjoy a wonderful lunch with my friend Prissy.  We had not seen each other in like a month so we had alot of catching up to do.  Then I went to a meeting we had a work.   Have not got any sewing done but I did get my sewing room a little more organized than it was.  Not sure how much sewing I will get to do tomorrow I want to go thrifting and get my hair cut.  I think we are going to make tonight a movie night.  Hope everyone has a great evening.

Thank you, Thank you to all my wonderful blog friends for your help trying to help me fix things.  Wow it is something else.  What I have done is changed from internet explorer to google chrome and it even seems to
be faster.  So, so far so good.
I am so excited last weekend my cousin gave me this Christmas tree which I just love.  My grandmother had one and she gave it to me.  And the sad thing is she kept telling me to throw it away.  Since she had it for years and years she did not like it anymore.  Well one day I listened and I threw it away.  I have been kicking myself ever since.  My cousin was so kind to give me this one.  I traded her the Christmas tree for a spinning wheel.  I think I came out ahead since I love the Christmas tree more.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

I am so happy it rained this afternoon for like 20 minutes.  Now I do not have to go out and water. One of my favorite things is to listen to it rain.

This is a quilt I made forever ago it was part of the Thimbleberries Watermelon camp.  Thought it would be perfect to pull out for the fourth of July.  Today I have done a little quilting.  I decided not to follow anything and do loops.  It is turning out ok.  Quilts always look better anyway after they are washed.  My David is bringing home dinner yeahhh I do not have to cook.  Hope everyone has a great evening.
