GIVE AWAY

I am so happy I can post again.  Thanks Blogger.  I have been cleaning out my closet full of Thimbleberries fabrics.  So if any of you are interested I am going to give some of it away.  So all you have to do is become follower and let me know that you are interested in the Thimbleberries fabric and if you are already a follower just let me know that you are interested.  Duchess and I will pick a winner sometime in June.

I joined the 12 inch Block Swap 2 in Australia.  This is the wonderful block Alex sent me all the way from Australia.  I asked for yellow and purples in hearts or baskets.  I just love this block.  If any of you are interested in joining please visit Alex http://quiltingblockswapsaustralia2.blogspot.com/  and let her know.  This is so much fun.

I thought I would try doing a paper craft project just adding things that I like.  I found this sweet little girl in Warrenton the last time we where there thrifting.  I am not sure I like the top Whoops it is stuck done really good. Just went to the dollar store and bought a writing book.  It was fun to make.  I can see how paper crafts can also be addicting.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.

I do not have any pictures today.  Still working on some secret stuff.  But I did go to our local quilt store today.  All of the fabrics in the store are 40% off.  So I got a few 30's pieces and a few more things.  The
heat is up here it was 95 in my car about lunch time.  I did the dumbest thing today.  I know got home in
my car but then I could not find my car keys anywhere.  I retraced my steps and nothing.  Went outside
where I took Duchess and could not find them in the grass.  FINALLY the fourth time outside I found them in the grass.  Has any one ever done that.  Wow I was going crazy trying to figure out where I could of laid them..
Hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday.

I got a little bit of sewing done yesterday but I can not show you yet because it is a secret.  But yesterday was the BIG day.  Autumn got married and she was the most beautiful bride.  Thought I would show a few pictures of the happy couple.  It was an outdoor wedding and it turned out beautiful.  Autumn and her new hubby had a great time as well as everyone else.

She is so beautiful.  She will be home for a  little bit then she has to go back to New York where she is stationed in the army.  We are hoping in a few months she will be stationed in Texas.  Yehhh!

Well today I think I need to organize my sewing room and get some more things done.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

You will never guess what I found on the way to my sister's yesterday, we stopped at a resale shop and you are never going to believe what I found.  Yes 3 more feed sacks.  One of them as a little stain but I think I can get it out.  I just love the flowers in these.

You are never going to believe what I finished.  Autumn's wedding quilt the binding is all done and I washed it.  Look how it came out of the dryer all wrinkled.  I was careful to keep it fluffed so it would dry evenly because it is so big.  The minute it came out of the dryer my sweet David held it up for a picture.  I just can
not get a good picture of this quilt.

I joined the kitchen towel exchange over at Gone Stitching http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/ and this is the beautiful kitchen towel I received from Ruth at http://ruthsquilts.blogspot.com/  Thank you so much Ruth I just love how your kitchen towel turned out.  Love the roses on the towel.  It is hanging on my oven door.

I also joined the Friday Night Sew-In  it is held every third Friday night of the month.  Thought this would be a fun way to get more things done.  To join visit Heidi at http://handmadebyheidi.blogspot.com/

I have been working on other things but I can not show you yet as it is supose to be a surprise.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

You are never going to believe what my sister had.  Yes my Thermos Peanuts lunch box from when I was in kindergarten. You can still see where my mom wrote my name on it.  I am disappointed in myself because I thought I needed to clean it up well just a little heads up never use simple green or windex.  Just look at the blue it just pealed away before my eyes.  Next time just plain soap and water for me.  To preserve it I think I am going to get some of that clear coat so it will stay like this and  hopefully not peal away anymore.

This is the back side.  I no longer have the thermos to it I broke it when I was in kindergarten.

This morning when my David took Duchess out he saw this frog in one of my lilies.  I planted these lilies a few years ago and they are finally starting to really multiply.  I just love it when they are all blooming at the same time.

Well I did not get to sew today.  Maybe that can be on tomorrow's list.

Well I just finished Autumn's garter's today.  I made her 3 one to throw and 2 to choose from.  I can not believe she is already getting married next weekend.  I feel like I was just at the hospital with my sister when she had her.  She will be in this week from New York.  ( she is in the Army ) only a few days before her wedding.  After the wedding she has time off but then back to New York and we are hoping in a few months she will get transferred to Texas.
Oh My Gosh I just noticed while I was posting these pictures I sewed the charms on wrong.  The horse shoe is  suppose to be face up for good luck.  I was trying not to have to hot glue them done.  Well they are charms so I guess I had better get my ripper out.  But I knew in the back of my mind  there was a reason I had to hot glue them.  Darn It.

This is the one I made for her to throw.

Well I did get my block done as well from the Australian 12" block of the month.  All I have to do is put it in the mail.  I am also working on some gifts that I have to get mailed out.  Well I guess I had better go rip the horse shoes off and get the hot glue gun out.

I thought I would show you the quilt I got all cut out and then laid out.  Sharon has made two of these quilts and she had left over fabrics and gave them to me.  The fabrics are by American Jane.  I did not get
the pieces sewn together this weekend. My sweet Duchess came through and wanted to play so my blocks where all in a mess.  So I picked them up and I have to rearrange them.  Sorry about the picture on the floor I thought that is why I made a design wall but I forgot about it.  Ooops  Maybe this weekend I can get them sewn together then the next step is to think about the borders.  Not sure what I am going to use for the borders.

Thought I would show you the Mother Goose block she is my favorite.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

You are never going to believe what Carla brought me today.  I had mentioned in a previous post that we are sharing pieces of our feed sacks.   Well look what Carla brought me today.  These wonderful feed sacks I just love love them.  Thank you so much Carla.

Just look at all this goodness.

This is the purse I mentioned a while ago.  It is going to be the cutest thing on the block.

This is my wonderful friend Carla.  At this point we where putting the ruffle on our purses.

This is the purse front.  Carla is so sweet she showed my a trick to make the most beautiful ruffles.

This is going to be the inside of our purses.  The rose print is going to our pockets but as you can tell I have not sewn it in yet.   We did not get them finished. Oh but we will and I can not wait.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
