What a GREAT day

Thought I would show you my purple day lilies.  My front is just starting to bloom.
Well I was suppose to have jury duty today and last night I called the number on the form to make sure there where not cancellations.   The phone rang and rang so of course I thought well I had better go.  So I headed over there this morning to get there and find out it had been cancelled YEAHHH!  So that left me time to have lunch with my sweet husband and my son.

I didn't get to spend any time in my sewing room.  But I got a few more things accomplished for my store.  Since I had today off the next 2 days are going to be long and on top of that I have to work Saturday.  Well I am still blessed to have a job.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

HELP!!

Blogger has changed and I can not figure it out. I feel so dumb. I can not figure out how to add new buttons or add new blogs that I want to follow. Trying to add a picture to my post???? Enough of my complaining. I would appreciate any help ya'll can give me. I am over the moon with happiness. Miss Keren at http://www.freeprettythingsforyou.com helped with me with my sweet header and some buttons for my Esty shop. Thank you so much Keren. It looks amazing. I am almost ready to open and while I am talking to my sweet David he asks me if I got a sales tax permit from the state of Texas. WHOOPS! So I got all that started last night all I have to do now is send in some paper work. I am still working on my secret project. Hopefully I will have it ready for ya'll soon. We are making slow progress on our bathroom. Sorry there are no pictures I cannot seem to up load them. Darn it! Hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL weekend. Hugs donna

Our bathroom

This is what we did today.  We got the shower up you can see  on the floor where it was leaking.  The green board is no longer up so you can see the pipes.  A little more of the tile was chunked out.  Way more work than I thought.  Ugghh!  We did a little yard work and I am bushed.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Not much of a Sale

We started our day early.  First we went to an estate sale.  Where I found these two books.  The prices where really high so I did not come home with much.  These two books really  have been loved by someone and I just could not pass them up.

David took me for a delicious Italian lunch in Houston.  We where going that way to pick up some supplies that we had ordered so we can start on our shower.  It is going to be a looonnng process.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend

Louisiana Finds

Here are the finds that I found while junkn in Louisiana.  I could not believe the bargins I found.   I have been trying to decorate my sewing room and our home.  It just seems to take a little time when you are on a budget.  These cuties caught my eye in a little antique mall.  The little sticker on them say Lefton.  They look like Little Bo Peep?

I think I had mentioned that I am not a collector of pigs.  I know you can not tell by the way I am finding them.  But these Swanee pigs are so darn cute.  There eyes are so precious.  This little pig cookie jar was 1/4 of the cost that you normally find them for.  SCORE!

I found a few pieces of this china.  Just love the pink roses with the grey.  Seems so elegant.

The rose tin and the fire king coffee cup came from a flee market for just penny's.

This Little Bo Peep caught my eye and I knew it would look great in my sewing room on my lavender wall.

I have been doing some secret sewing.  Hopefully I can show you soon.  Today I did some embroidery for my sister on one machine and did some sewing on the other.  WhoooHooo nothing like multi tasking.  The embroidery is for my sister's new son in law.  I sent her a picture to find out I was doing it all wrong.  So it is all ripped out and ready to go tomorrow.

Well the weather is starting to rumble.  Maybe we will get some rain.  We have not been getting the bad weather other parts of Texas seem to be getting.

Oh my gosh my husband just found Mork and Mindy on TV.  Can you believe?  Today is my sweet David's birthday.  He has had a relaxing day.  Hope ya'll have had a GREAT weekend as well.

Happy Easter

Not much sewing done this weekend.  Yesterday David and I shopped for new tile for our bathroom.   Our bathroom is having some issues.  Ekkk!  We think we found just the right tile but before we can order we have to tear out the shower and figure out how we are going to redo it.

Today we worked in the yard.  And found this baby bunny hiding in the mass of clover that we have in our yard.   It really let me get amazingly close, I almost got to pet it before it ran off.

This bunny is just the cutest thing.  We see our little bunnies a lot running through the yard.  Sometimes they come up the the back porch and just sit there.

We got new knock out roses planted and I transplant a ton of day lilies.  Hopefully we can get the yard work under control.  If that is even possible.

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter and gets to enjoy time with family and friends.

Loyd Hall Plantation in Louisiana

So sorry I have been away.  David took me to Louisiana for the weekend.  It is only like 5ish hours away.   Our mission was to go junkin and stay in a great place.  Well my sweet David got it right.  We stayed at Loyd Hall Plantation in Louisiana.  The home and the grounds are just beautiful.  The hospitality is number 1.   It was really nice to meet the owner and have breakfast with Mr. Jenkins.  The nicest down to earth gentleman you will ever meet.   Mr. Jenkins has the most wonderful stories.  Miss Linda that does the marketing and event scheduling went out of her way to help us find a wonderful restaurant to telling us about great places to visit.  She is a total sweet heart.  Miss Bulla cooked the most wonderful breakfast for us.  Oh boy she is a wonderful cook.  I can remember eating grits as a little girl and thinking yuk.  Well the way Miss Bulla made them you will keep going back for more.

This is the side view of the front.   We did a tour of the house but of course I did not think to take pictures of the inside. (darn it)  This house holds a lot of interesting stories.

Back view is just as beautiful.

When  house's like this where built the kitchen was on the outside in another building.  This is the old kitchen that is split up into two rooms.  We stayed in the room on the right.  The room was so comfortable all the way to the bed.  The bed was just like sleeping on your own bed.   We slept like babies.

Out side of our room was this big pot and grinding stone.  Just look at the beautiful iris'.  The grounds are very well kept and just beautiful.  This is a place we will definitely go back to and drive to where ever our destination is in Louisiana.  Thank you so much for your hospitality.  It is so hard to find these days.  David and I really enjoyed our self's and getting to know every one .
