Making a baby blanket

Hey y'all thought I would show you what I have been working on.  I appliqued this teddy bear and  horse for the center of a baby blanket.

This is with the first border.  I thought I would make the other borders scrappy.   Duchess has sniffed it and approved it.  This is all the sewing I have done this whole weekend.   I have also been working in the yard and our garden is kaput.  It is so hot the only thing we have left in our garden is okra.

I joined the Santa Sack Swap over at Cheryll's again this year.  Last year was so much fun I could not resist.  Cheryll is so sweet to be our swap momma.  You can visit Cheryll's swap at http://santasackswap.blogspot.com/ and see what everyone is doing.

Anne aka Nana B is my swap partner.  We have been emailing back and forth and she is so sweet.  I asked her for a stocking and oh boy look what I got in the mail today.  This beautiful stocking with all the perfect colors.   You can visit Nana B at http://stitchingbythebeach.blogspot.com/

This picture shows you more of the beautiful fabrics.   Anne you nailed it perfectly.

How the swap works is we make our partner a sack or a stocking and send 2 gifts a month and then a extra one at Christmas time.  I have to have the will power to wait until Christmas to open all my presents.  Thank you so much Anne for my presents and my beautiful stocking.  It is so sweet I just Love, Love it.  You did an awesome job.

Tomorrow starts my work week again.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

  5. I am so glad you received the package and even happier that you like the stocking. My family thought it was odd that I did not use Christmas fabric but they (and I) thought it was really cute.
