My Quilts

I can not believe that I have quilted almost 75 quilts.  That includes quilts for myself, friends and customers.  I would really like to grow my quilting business.  So if any of you need a quilt quilted I would be more than happy to do it for you.  I have been sewing since I was a little girl right by my grandmothers side.  I got my first mid-arm quilting machine in 2002.  And I have been quilting ever since.  Thought I would show you a few of my quilts.

This is one of my Christmas log cabin quilts.  Oh the stars where painful.

This little purple dress quilt hangs in my bedroom.

I thought I would also show you a few samples of my quilting.

I am already starting to do Christmas gifts.  So if you need a quilt done please let me know soon.  You can reach through my email on my blog.

Thank you so much my sweet sweet blogging friends for all your thoughts and prayers.    Your comments mean alot to me.  I know that my dad is in a much better place now and is no longer in any pain.

I have been doing a little mindless quilting on a customer's quilt today.  Now I am thinking I need to go work in the yard.  Hope everyone is having a HAPPY Sunday.

In Loving Memory of my Dad

I am so sorry I have not been around to visit all of you.  My dad past away last night.  He had gone to the hospital for a stomach ache.  We never thought it was an abdominal aneurysm.   He went through surgery but they could not get his temp. up and his blood pressure was low and his organs started to shut down.  I know he is in a better now.   He was a gardner and was always there to give me tips.  Since I can not grow a garden.  At least he has a smile upon his face now.  And even though we had our differences he will be MISSED.

Dotty Hop Day

WOW can you believe it is time for another Tuesday.  This year is really going by fast for me.  It is Dotty Hop Day over at Holly's Cutie Pie Cottage.  Please visit Holly at http://holly-girlsatheart.blogspot.com/.  She always has the cutest dots.  You can also join the party by posting about Dotty Hop Day and leaving Holly a message that you posted about it and link up the party and the bottom of her post.

This petal bag is something I made today for a patient at work.  She is so sweet every time she has an appointment she brings me a gift as well as the hygienist that sees her.  So this time I thought I should make her something.  To show her how much we appreciate her as well.    Sorry you can barely see the pink with white polka dots.

She is also a quilter so I thought I would make her a little pin cushion to match her bag.  I just love the roses with the polka dots.

Well I also finished Sharon's quilt this weekend and will deliver it to her tomorrow.  If I must say so myself it turned out really good.
Hope everyone has a DOTTY week.

My 5 Dollar Day

David and I needed to go to Home Depot today and it is in the town I grew up in about 30ish minutes away.   On our way home we passed this garage sale.  JACK POT! Count them yes there are 7 feed sacks.  At first I was questioning them then when I turned them inside out the string was still there.  Yeahhhh!  Some of them where made into pillow cases and a few had never been sewn into anything.  Oh and they are full size.

This is an old sheet I just could not resist.

These 2 are pillow cases but I was trying to get a close up so you could see the pattern.

So sorry these are so wrinkled I was so excited and could not wait to show you that I did not iron them.  Well I am a freak about things so of course I will wash and I iron before I do anything with them.

Just look at this quilt top.  Some of the fabrics in it are just WONDERFUL.  I am not sure if this scrappy doo quilt is made from old cloths or not.  But I did not care I love most of the fabrics in it.  We got there just in time because they where folding things up.  It started with this quilt top when I asked the lady how much it was she told me to grab a box and she would get me a bulk rate.  So when I got my box filled with treasures and when I went to pay she asked if 5 dollars was ok.  Well of course it is ok I said as I was jumping for joy inside.  I had gone to 2 garage sales yesterday and they where both DUDS.  Well this for sure made up for it.

Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend.

Holly's Dotty Hop Day

The weeks are going by so fast.  Tomorrow is Dotty Hop Day over at Holly's Cutie Pie Cottage.  You must visit Holly at http://holly-girlsatheart.blogspot.com/  Her dotts are so cute.  They put you in a GREAT mood they are so cheerful.

The 2 plates are hanging in my bedroom.   There was no question about it for me they had to have lavender/purple polka dot ribbon on them.   I am just in love with them.

This is the fabric Sharon is using on the back of her quilt.  I could not resist taking a picture of it
before I put it on the quilting frame.  I just love this fabric.  Just add polka dots they make everything better.

Hope everyone is having a great start to this week.

It has been raining the better part of today.  Yeahhhh!  The rain makes it so much cooler outside I am just loving it. Maybe some of the cracks in the ground will start to close up.  That way we will not fall in and get lost. (giggles)

This is a little cart that Sharon get me awhile back.  She had it painted black.  Well last weekend David painted it purple for me.  He did a great job.  I am going to use it in my sewing room.  Thought I could maybe get one more piece in there. (giggles)  Once I get it all set up I will show you what it looks like.

Welcome to my new home.  I found this doll house in Warrenton for a bargin price.  The lady I bought it from said she thinks it is from the 1950's.  I think I was born a little late?  Wish I could turn back time for a day and live in the 50's.  Seems like it was a great time.

This is the nursery.  To bad you can not see the alphabet one the side of the wall in blue.  I am just a bad picture taker.

This is the living room.  I just LOVE the fire place.

On the other side wall of the garage are lawn things.  But I just love the little yellow bike.  Not sure I would like to mow the lawn with that mower.  But on second though I would get some great exercise.

Once again my camera skills stink.  This is the bedroom.

I did get a little bit of furniture with my new house, but I am not sure it all goes with it.  I only put a few pieces in to get a better idea of how it would look.  I had a side view of my new house but I had trouble rotating it.

Here are a few coloring books that I could not pass up.  When I saw them I thought I would frame them for my sewing room.  They are just to cute to put away a save.

I have not done much sewing.  But I have been quilting sorry nothing to show yet.  Right now I got one of Sharon's quilts on my quilting frame.  It is going to be a Christmas gift for her sister.  Guess I better get back to quilting I have only quilted 2 rows so far today.  Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend.

Tuesday is Dotty Hop Day

Tuesday's are Dotty Hope Day over at Holly's http://holly-girlsatheart.blogspot.com/  You should stop by her cute blog.  Holly has the cutest Dotty things.

This is my Autumn quilt.  It  hangs over an old sewing machine.  So I was trying to get some pictures but could not hold it straight. (Whoops)  Hope you can see that I used a polka dot back ground.

This is a Bunny Hill Design. http://bunnyhillblog.com/  I used mostly Thimbleberries fabric's but of course I had to add some polka dot's here and there.  I think the name of this pattern is Autumn House.  I tried to find my pattern but couldn't.  This quilt was so much fun to make.  I have a few of Bunny Hill's pattern's I guess I should hop to it and get sewing.

Hope everyone has a GREAT week

Can you believe tomorrow is already Monday.  WOW where does the weekend go.  I am not even sure what I did.

I am into a paper doll craz.  I just love them.  Can you believe these Shirley Temple paper dolls still in the box and have never been cut?  The prices where good on all the paper dolls so I could not pass them up.

I am not sure about this set but they where to cute and needed a home.

Oh and this Little Women set.  The cloths are in the inside of this book.  They are like new so I am not sure if this is an old set or not? But I love them anyway, I think I have only seen the movie a couple of times and loved it.  Now I need to try and find the movie.  (I think Amazon is calling giggles)

This was another cute set.  I am not sure about them either but the price was right. (I think like a $1)   The cloths are so cute.  I am thinking this would look good framed.

I know I should be doing my Christmas sewing but I have been repurposing an old suit case and can not wait to show you.  I have been working on it here and there for awhile and it has consumed the kitchen table.  It has been moved and now I am doing the inside and thinking about adding some rick rack.

Hope everyone has had a GREAT weekend.

We are having a beautiful day here today.  So far the weather has been great.

I must tell you about a giveaway  Trish is having at http://notesofsincerity.blogspot.com/  Her blog is so sweet.  All you have to do is
1. Become a follower
2.  Send her a 5" square of 100 % cotton fabric
3.  Spread the word.

We went to Warrenton last Friday and this is 2 of the cutter quilts I found.  I just love the scallops on the top one.  It has some really bad spots on it but I am not sure I am going to cut it up yet.  Sometimes that can be a great look.

I tried to get a good picture of this one but it is a little  breezy outside.  Can you see the purple binding on this one?  Yeahhhh!  This quilt is in a little better shape but not by much.  I have more to show you a little bit later, we went back to Warrenton yesterday.  It is so much fun.  We did about 99% of the show yesterday.   It seems even when you go back you notice things that you did not notice before.

LOOK what I won.  Rarely do I ever win anything so I am so HAPPY.  Michelle at http://michelleridgwaydesigns1.blogspot.com/ was having a giveaway and I won one of her beautiful stitchery patterns and a sweet card.  I just love Michelle's stitchery.  She is so creative.  You should pay Michelle a visit and see all of her beautiful things.  Thank you so much Michelle.

This is the sweet card Michelle sent me.  I just LOVE it.
Hope everyone is having a beautiful Saturday.
