Quilt Sampler 2013 Block 5

Hello.  Hope you are having a great week so far?

I finally figured out how to get my retreat pictures off my camera card.  It helps if you are using the right date.  Some how the date was off.  So I will be able to show you pictures soon.

On to block 5 the Friendship Block.

Cut 4  3 7/8 inch white squares.
One pink 3 7/8 inch square.  (sorry the pink square did not make the picture)

Cute 2   4 1/4 inch white squares
Cute 2  4 1/4 inch pink squares.
With the pink on top of the white ( right sides together)

Align your ruler so you can cut them in half diagonally.

You will have 4.

Sew them together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

Don't forget to set your seams by pressing with your iron.

Press open to the pink.  At the point they should measures 3 7/8 inches.

This is your placement.

The first row I pressed towards the white.
Second row I pressed to the pink.
Third row I pressed to the white.
With your seams being pressed in the opposite direction in each row, this will help you line up your seams better.

Here ya have it your 10 1/2 inch Friendship block.

We have been busy redoing our bedroom.  My allergies have been so bad.  When I saw the allergy Dr. again he made recommendations and one was to pull up all the carpet, so we did in our bedroom and painted the floor. We are still not finished hanging crown molding in our bathroom.  No ADD here?  Next is going to be my sewing room.  Not sure how I am going to live without it for awhile.  We will probably put it off until the new year.

Hope y'all are having a quilt fun day.

Hugs
donna

  6. Your block is very cute! We have been working on replacing all our carpets with hardwood flooring in our home and it has really helped my allergies. Our carpets were glued to the floor, it was a huge mess to get them up and a lot of work. Good luck with the rest of yours. Have a great day!

  7. thanks for the tutorial. Hope the allergies calm down now the carpet has gone, you will find it a bit colder on your feet but a thick pair of socks will sort that out and better than sneezing etc
