Quilt Sampler 2013 Block 3

Good Wednesday morning.  Here is block 3.

Cut 3  3 7/8 inch squares.

Cut 2  4 1/4 inch pink squares.

Using your ruler cut them in half diagonally.

Cut 2  4/1/4 inch white squares.

Using your ruler cut them in half diagonally.

Sew a pink triangle to a white triangle using 1/4 inch seam allowance.
Make 4.

Set your seams by pressing them on the pink side.

Press open each triangle unit towards the pink.

This is the placement for your block.

If you iron your seams in opposite directions it will help you match up your seams.

After sewing the two rows together this is how your block will look.

This is your spool block all done, it should measure 10 1/2 inches.

I am going to do sashing between the blocks.   We will do that with block 4.

It has been fun sewing together.  Tomorrow I will pick a winner for the giveaway.  You can see the post here to comment and join in.  Hope you have a wonderful quilty day.

Hugs,
donna

  7. I'm working on my block and have read this several times. I don't see directions to cut the 2 3 7/8 inch squares of white necessary to finish the block. :)
