Grandma's Apron's

Good Sunday morning.

I have been trying for the past few days to try and get pictures of my grandma's apron's but the wind has not been co operating with me.

Grandma was simple and so are the aprons.  The first one is done out of that red and white polka dot fabric where the dots stick up.  I just love that fabric.  (wish I could find some more.)   Grandma wrote with a paint tube Eat - Drink - And  Be Merry For Tomorrow We Diet.   Grandma also had a great sense of humor. (sorry the pictures are not all that)
The second apron is made out of a flour sack and is somewhat faded but I love it just the same.  There is also a dish towel to match but it has holes in it and it is really faded.  (could not get a good picture of it)

The first apron is also made from flour sack and has two pocket's that are hard to see in the picture.  I am not to sure about the second apron with the strawberries.  The fabric seems to be newer to me, but I am pretty sure grandma made it.  All the apron's where tucked in a kitchen draw at my grandma's house.  My aunt moved back in to help with grandma and she still lives there.  I love going back, it still smells like grandma's house and has wonderful memories.  If we could just go back in time when life did not move so fast.  I have tried to slow things down a bit in my life and I am so GRATEFUL.

Much Love
donna

  7. So typical of aprons worn in the 50's or 60's. They must bring back a lot of loving memories.

  12. The dotted fabric where the dots stick up is called dotted swiss, I think. I remember that type of fabric, too. =)

You are very blessed to have such treasures from your grandmother.
