Happy Saturday

Happy Saturday.  I got to sew yesterday and I thought I would show you how far I have gotten on my baby quilt.   Hopefully I can finish it today??  Would love to get it on the quilt machine.  I am thinking this may go in my shop.

I did get a little thrifting in yesterday.  We had to go into town for some things.  My car breaks for thrifts stores and quilt shops there where no garage sales that I knew about.  I am in love with these little books and I scored them for a great price.   HAPPINESS!  The little deer was so cute I just could not leave him behind.  His eyes are so precious.

Hope everyone gets to enjoy there Saturday and get cooled off.  Looks like it may rain here.

Making a baby blanket

Hey y'all thought I would show you what I have been working on.  I appliqued this teddy bear and  horse for the center of a baby blanket.

This is with the first border.  I thought I would make the other borders scrappy.   Duchess has sniffed it and approved it.  This is all the sewing I have done this whole weekend.   I have also been working in the yard and our garden is kaput.  It is so hot the only thing we have left in our garden is okra.

I joined the Santa Sack Swap over at Cheryll's again this year.  Last year was so much fun I could not resist.  Cheryll is so sweet to be our swap momma.  You can visit Cheryll's swap at http://santasackswap.blogspot.com/ and see what everyone is doing.

Anne aka Nana B is my swap partner.  We have been emailing back and forth and she is so sweet.  I asked her for a stocking and oh boy look what I got in the mail today.  This beautiful stocking with all the perfect colors.   You can visit Nana B at http://stitchingbythebeach.blogspot.com/

This picture shows you more of the beautiful fabrics.   Anne you nailed it perfectly.

How the swap works is we make our partner a sack or a stocking and send 2 gifts a month and then a extra one at Christmas time.  I have to have the will power to wait until Christmas to open all my presents.  Thank you so much Anne for my presents and my beautiful stocking.  It is so sweet I just Love, Love it.  You did an awesome job.

Tomorrow starts my work week again.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

On Sale

Hi y'all.  I have decided to put my pattern on sale.  The sale price is $5.  So if any of you are interested please email or visit me at my Etsy store.

Driving to my home town today which is only like 20 minutes away we found a garage sale.  I scored a couple of things.  This is a draw string bag and I think it is feedsack fabric it looks and fells like it.  The string stitching is missing but it looks like 2 feedsack bags sewn together.  Maybe it will have a little place in a Halloween or children's quilt.

This is a piece of a vintage sheet.  Sorry the picture is bad but my lighting was not very good since it was getting dark outside.  I found a few more things but they are soaking right now.  I will show you tomorrow.

This is an apron I am working on.  But by looking at the pictures I think I should use red check and not the yellow?

This is my delima.  In the picture the rick looks like it matches some what but in person it looks like it needs to have a little more green in it.    Thought I would see what y'all think.

Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend.

Duchess

Just look at my sweet Duchess.  The jeep is a peddle car I won this weekend.   It is so darn cute and I could not resist putting Duchess in it for a picture.  Sorry the picture is so blurry she was a little wiggly.  When we go the the groomers she sits in my lap and puts her paws on my steering wheel like she is driving.  Duchess likes to see where she is going.

This weekend I did get a little sewing done.  Started making an apron but I discovered I did not have any vintage blue rick rack.  That color is so hard to find.  So I am on the search.  I also went to a couple of garage sales in town.  NOTHING.

Our purple tiles finally came in for our bathroom.  I will show you pictures soon.

Hope y'all have a wonderful week.

Happy Father's Day

This afternoon I got the front yard mowed for my sweet husband.  Then the lawn mower went kaput.  WHOOPS!

Hope all the dad's out there have a wonderful day.

Lazy days

This is what I have been up to.  Trying to organize but not really getting far.  Not sure if anything is really getting accomplished.  I did not get one stitch of sewing done this weekend.  Is this what they call the Lazy Days of Summer?

Hope you are having a GREAT day.

Organizing

Hello Chickadee's.  I am so sorry I am way behind on my blogging.  We have had graduating party's, working in the yard and I have been doing some spring cleaning.  I am trying to reorganize some closets and my sewing room trying to get ready for some fabric to arrive for my shop.  I am so excited I can hardly wait for it to arrive.  Today I did add some more sheets and some pin cushion's to my store.  I think most of my sheets are vintage just by looking at some tags but I am still not 100% sure so I am not showing them as such.

I had a lot of ironing to do today after washing some vintage fabric's.  This is fabric for a vintage pillow case.   I think the reason I got it so cheap is because it is not cut straight and is a little off to make a pillow case.

Just had to show you a closer picture.  I am in love with the little roses and bows.

This is more pillow case fabric and the same thing is true.  It is not straight but both pieces are going to be beautiful in something.

Hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend.
