Road Trip

Today I needed to go to the Social Security office to get some paper work so I can complete some things for my dad.  I was so determined not to go to Houston.  My cousin Natalie saved my day by telling me there is a Social Security office in Brenham.  Yeahhh!  Going to the country is much better.   Found it easy peasy NO long line did not take long at all which left time for thrifting.  Brenham is also the home of Blue Bell ice cream yummmm.

Found this sweet lady in a thrift store I like to visit when I go there.  I think the proceeds go to a near by homeless shelter.   Just feel in love with her sweet little face and the flowers on her dress.

Oh my goodness I found this Dick and Jane book for $1 oh yes $1.  Dick and Jane are my favoritest. (I know that is not a word WHOOPS)  I am pretty sure it is a newer book but I did not care I LOVE it.  Then I came across these small chalk boards for 25 cents.  They are going to be so sweet in picture frames.

Just had to show you a page from my new book.

Then there is a furniture store there Hermann Furniture "Since 1876" that is a must for me to visit every time.  There is an awesome antique store in there.  That is where I found this feed sack.  SCORE!

So on my way home I stopped at another antique store in Bellville.  That is where I found this sweet lamb at a bargin price.  Just could not resist the sweet little face.  The eyes will make you melt.  Well my sweet little lamb had an accident.  While I was getting the keys out of my purse I dropped it.  DARN IT   I got the head glued back on and you can not even tell it broke except for the ear I got some of it back on and the rest of the pieces do not fit.  I am looking for suggestions as how to hide the break on the ear.

Well it is movie night.  Not sure what we are going to watch yet.  But I do know there will be popcorn.  Hope ya'll have a wonderful evening.

  5. Darn it. That is something I have done too many times. Get a little bit of those sugary colors of millinery flowers and a velvet bow. Fix it right up. Beth of Beths Bagz does this on her pincushions all the time and you can't tell at all. I broke a gorgeous lamp this week one of a pair. But I only paid five dollars for it so it wasn't too much of a loss. Great stuff. You certainly do not want to go all the way to Houston and wait in those lines! Smiles...Renee
