I hope all my friends along the East Coast awaiting Irene will be safe.  It seems that this time a year mother nature has a weird sense of humor.  Ya'll will be my prayers.

Today I had 2 doctor's appointments and then I had lunch with one of my good friend's Prissy.  We ate at the Soda Fountain.  It was a pharmacy when I was little and we would go upstairs to the Dr.  The food is great and they make homemade soda's it is just great place to eat.  After I dropped Prissy back off at work I thought I would go treasure hunting.

I went by a resale shop and just LOOK was I found.  Fire King bowls at lower than garage sale prices.  They are in perfect condition.  Just could not pass these bowls up.  I have been eyeing them now again but they where always Waay out of my price range.  I guess it was just meant to be today.

I also found this biscuit sack.  Sorry you can not read it.  But it says San Antonio River Mill Brand at the bottom Country Style Biscuit.   We only live a couple of hours from San Antonio did not know they this was available.

I could not pass up this cute Little Bo-Peep book.

This cute little crocheted dress is going to hang somewhere in my sewing room.  I just love the color and I think it is going to look great against my lavender wall.  I also found a couple of vintage hankies but I have not taken any pictures yet.  They have a few stains and since I am such a freak I have them soaking.  So once they dry I will take a picture and show you.  Hope everyone has a great evening.

This weekend David fixed a shelf above the window in my sewing room.  Today I got it all painted.  Thought I had white paint but as it turns out it is a pail lavender. (image that) hehe.  I will have to show you tomorrow after I get a few goodies on it.  I did a little sewing this weekend but nothing I can really show you they are all gifts.

Got my picture all put together, framed and it is hanging over my quilting machine.  I added a few more things.  At the top it say's grandmas and in the middle lower right of the hankie is love.  I also added some buttons and in the right hand corner is my grandmother's hand's.  They both where sewers and I learned a lot from both of them.  Both of them are missed very much.  Well I have tomorrow I have off so  I think I am going to do a little more sewing.  I am wanting to try to make fabric flowers.  Let's see?  Hope everyone as great week.

WHOOPS!  I was busy drooling over everything that Leona sent me I forgot to post about a couple of other goodies she sent me.  I am so sorry Leona but here they are.  I had the panel laying open over my quilt machine just admiring it.  I just love all the colors.

Just look at the precious little rabbit.  Since we live out in the country we have little bunnies in our yard.  Every now and then they will pop the heads out.  With this little rabbit came a beautiful heart I have placed it in my collage by my grandmother. (below)  Thank you again so much Leona.

This is what I have been working on today.  Can you see the beautiful heart on the top right under my grandmother's picture.  I have been wanting to make this for a while for my sewing room.  Both of my grandmother's sewed.  I found a few vintage sewing things but I feel like it might need a little more if any of you have any ideas I would love to hear them.  I have an old window from my great grandmother's house that is going to be the picture frame.  I will show you more when I get it all framed up.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hello chickadee's.  This has been a great week from the gift fairy's.  On Wednesday I had lunch with Joyce from http://youngbydesign.blogspot.com/  we are Santa swap partners.  It is always so nice to get together with her Joyce she is a total sweet heart.  This is what she has wrapped up for to open on Christmas day.  Joyce there is no way to peak as you have taped the packages so well hehehe.

I am also in the once a season swap and Cheryll from http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/ is the swap mamma for this too.  My swap partner is Leona from http://oneygirl-myquiltingadventure.blogspot.com/  she has so out done herself.  Leona is a very generous person. She has made me a very happy girl.  Just look at the vintage trim she sent me. mmmmmm.

The yo yo's will be put to good use just look at the wonderful colors.

The vintage hankies are just beautiful.  On the lavender one the lace is crocheted on.  How lovely is that?  Leona also sent me the zipper pouch and tissue holder.

And just look at the fabulous fabrics.  All in different wonderful variations of purples and lavenders with a hint of yellow.

Thank you so VERY much Leona.  I just love all my goodies can not wait to find projects for it all.

The beautiful board that I displayed my fabulous vintage lace and yo yo's on was made for me by another one of my very generous friends Carla.  Carla is so sweet  and always finds the best ideas.  Thank you Carla.
Today  there where actually a couple of garage sales in our little town.  The only thing I really found was a picnic basket.  ( I will show you later)  I thought is would be a great home for some of my crafty things.

We are in store for another hot weekend with no rain in site.  Yesterday my car said it was 106.  Thank goodness for air conditioning.  Hope everyone is having a great day and staying cool.

I am so happy  Wanda (my sister) told me last night that the benefit went well.  For the baby quilt she made it went for $110. and the lap quilt went for $300 I am so happy for the family that this is going to help.  When families pull together nothing is impossible.

This is the Blissful Day quilt I have been working on.  I took it outside so that maybe the colors would be better. NOT!  It is windy outside and I just got lucky for one second to get this picture.  Yesterday as I was sewing this together the thought crossed my mind that the fabrics I am using for this is called Swell so maybe the name of my quilt ought to be Swell Day?  I am still looking for 1 1/2 wide red rick rack for the borders so it may be awhile before I am finished.

You can see how dry everything is here.  Our water well has been working hard to water our grass.  In the far back ground is the hay meadow.  The farmer that leases it from us has white pipe around it and is pumping water from the little river behind us that is why it is so green.  Hope everyone is staying cool inside and having a great day.

I have not been up to much have been feeling kinda lazy.  My sister made 2 quilt tops for a benefit and brought them over to me so I could quilt and bind them.  I just love this baby quilt.  So sorry you can not see the colors to well when I finished everything it was dark and wanted to take a picture so I could show you.

This is a lap size quilt 72 x 72.  She made this quilt out of some old Thimbleberries I had.  Wanda did not have a pattern but this is what she came up with.  Wanda is good that way she can put anything together as far as recipes and it turns out great for me I need a recipe.

This is the McCoy tulip vase I got at a resale shop last weekend.  I got it for a GREAT price so I knew it was meant to be.  And it is in perfect condition.  Well you know it was meant to be with the purple around the edges of the tulips hehe.

I have not been able to visit alot this week once again because of my computer.  I changed over to google chrome and now there is a server problem every now and then.  But I really like google chrome it is much faster for me than internet explorer.  Hope the problem will get resolved soon so I can visit more.  Hope everyone is having a great evening.
