I am so happy  Wanda (my sister) told me last night that the benefit went well.  For the baby quilt she made it went for $110. and the lap quilt went for $300 I am so happy for the family that this is going to help.  When families pull together nothing is impossible.

This is the Blissful Day quilt I have been working on.  I took it outside so that maybe the colors would be better. NOT!  It is windy outside and I just got lucky for one second to get this picture.  Yesterday as I was sewing this together the thought crossed my mind that the fabrics I am using for this is called Swell so maybe the name of my quilt ought to be Swell Day?  I am still looking for 1 1/2 wide red rick rack for the borders so it may be awhile before I am finished.

You can see how dry everything is here.  Our water well has been working hard to water our grass.  In the far back ground is the hay meadow.  The farmer that leases it from us has white pipe around it and is pumping water from the little river behind us that is why it is so green.  Hope everyone is staying cool inside and having a great day.

  5. A good feeling to know that the quilts were appreciated and going to a good home. Like Swell------perfect name. Everything is getting pretty brown around here and no one has flowers. Maybe we should plant cactus.

  8. Sounds like the auction was a great success!!!
Your new little quilt is very appealing!! I have finally given up on trying to have sun to take my quilt photos. On my plaid quilt photos I took them at night using my flash. Worked out pretty good.
Yes, we are hoping our house well doesn't run dry. The farmers around here have NEVER watered the crops for 6 straight months. We heard today on the news about the town of KEMP TEX...they have NO water now...population 1000!!! Not Good!!

  10. Your quilt looks great!! Blackberry Patchworks in Ohio carries the big ric rac. (I'm sure a lot of other places do, but I recently saw it there.)
