I tried to post yesterday but we finally got a little weather and it knocked me off the computer.  We had gone to a graduation party yesterday and my car said it was 103.   After we got home we could hear thunder and it rained for like 15 minutes.  It has been so dry and we have not been able to water enough. Well enough about the weather.  I have to show you what I made for my friends daughter for graduation.  While I was visiting Flo at http://butterflyquilting.blogspot.com/ she was showing us some of the bags that she had made and this is one of them it is called Phoebe Bag and to find the pattern visit Artsy Crafty Babe at http://www.rebekalambert.com/artsycrafty_babe/  She has wonderful ideas.  Thanks to both of you for sharing.

When I got home I had been playing with some scraps.  I decided to make this crazy scrappy doo block out of some 1030's scraps that I had been saving.  This block turned out to be 10 1/2 inches.  But the more I look at it the more I am not sure I like it.  Maybe I should try another one before I decide?  What do you think?

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

  1. I like your 30's crazy quilt design block. Looks like a lot of work, but cute, don't know how it would look as a quilt, do you have a pattern?

  4. 103 you got me beat - our warmest day is coming Wednesday, at 94 [and no a/c here]. That purse turned out so pretty! And I love your block. I think if you're going to make a whole quilt like this, you might want to add some sashing between the blocks...that would add a bit of order and frame them beautifully.

  5. Donna,
Thank you so much for visiting and following my blog. I clicked on your info and found this blog. I LOVE IT!!!! We must be very much alike. I only looked at it for ten seconds and went straight to the follow button. I don't want to miss anything!!! I promise I will be posting something new very soon, just trying to get things done around the yard, and getting the garden in. Boy, it was hot here today too, 92 degrees at seven o'clock at night. I just went out and watered really well because tomorrow is supposed to be a scorcher. I think I'll stay in and work on my blog!!! I'm so glad to meet you, and I hope we can get to know each other better. Thank you for putting up my button too, so nice of you. I have a few up but have to get help putting up more, I forgot how to do it!!!

  6. I love your scrappy block!! ( Is it paper pieced?) I think it might need sashing between the blocks, so the eye has somewhere to rest. The bag is really cute too.

  8. Hi Donna! Funny that you did a "scrappy do" block in 30's...I've been thinking of doing something similar...to get a 30's depression kind of look. I like your new fabric. How are you going use it?

  9. I like the block! 30's prints are my absolute favorite, and this way you can have a lot of different ones in one block. I think it would look good with bright white sashing between blocks if you're making it into a quilt.

  10. Miss Donna I love that 30's block. Very sweet little crazy quilt like look. I agree with the bright white or any solid color in between or an overall crazy with a wide border is good too. Thanks for sharing...smiles...Renee
