I am almost done with my kitchen hot pad.  All I have to do is sew on the binding.  I wish I could your what it looks like but it is suppose to be a secret so when my secret person receives her than I can show.  But I do
want to show you what I have hanging in our bedroom.  I did this quilt in all 1930's reproduction purples.  It is out of Quilting with My Sister by Barbara Brandeburg and Teri Christopherson.  This quilt was so much fun to make.

I pulled this book out a little bit ago.  I just love to look through it.  Well I guess I better get started on my binding now.  Hope everyone has a great week.

  3. Such a cute quilt with all the ladies in their dresses. You can always tell a Barb Brandenburg and Teri Christopherson quilt, they have that special look! Bet you have fun searching for the purple 30's.

  4. Donna it is gorgeous. I am too much of a scaredy cat to try my hand at a quilt with all that binding. I would rather do a blind hem. The 30's fabric is one of my favorites. Love that they remake some of the best fabric ever...smiles...Renee

  5. Donna,
Beautiful! I have this book and love it! I have the blocks made but have yet to put the quilts together. I always made my girls dresses when they were little. I saved the scraps thinking one day I would make quilts out of the scraps. I used scraps from both my daughters dresses and appliqued these dresses on the forms. There are so many memories with each block! I have enough blocks for two quilts. One day soon I will finish them. It's still hard to think about Amber's little dresses ... and yes her's has purple in it!
    Hugs,
    Donna
