Louisiana Finds

Happy Monday.

Thought I would show you some of my finds from Louisiana.  The lady at the store told me these are oatmeal bowls.  When you bought oatmeal you got a bowl, cup, or little glass.  I wish we still had those days.  Wouldn't it be nice to open some oatmeal and get one of these great bowls?

I just love these cut outs, but they are so hard to find in good condition.  Score!  I also found the feed sack they are lying on.  I know one day I will get my feed sacks in my shop.  lol

Ok you know how I just love paper dolls?  I could not believe it when I found these Raggedy Ann and Andy paper dolls.  I was over the moon excited.  David had to come and see what all the commotion was.  lol.

This sewing basket is in perfect condition.  I just had to snatch it up.

Just look at the beautiful roses on the bottom.  I was thinking my machine embroidery thread would fit great in this sewing basket.  I have a yellow one just like it I keep my other threads in and I just love it.

Hope you have a great week and get to sew until your machine can not take it anymore.

New Fabric in my shop and Louisiana

Good Saturday morning chick a dee's.  This is the new line of the Mary Rose collection by Quilt Gate in my shop http://www.donnaslavendernest.com/ I just love all these sweet floral's.  Best of all there are lavender's and purple's in this line.

My sweet hubby took me to Louisiana last weekend.  Oh how I love to stay in Chaneyville at Lloyd Hall.  Everyone is so friendly and hospitable.  We sat on the patio in the evenings and picnicked under the large oak trees.  It was such a nice weekend.   David took me junkin to all our favorite places and  we even found some new places to visit.  I will have to show all my finds in the next post.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hubby's Birthday and a Barn Along

Today is my sweet hubby's birthday.  We celebrated by going to dinner with family and friends.  It seems like just yesterday we where teenagers going to Galveston and having a blast with no cares in the world except for each other.

Block 1

I joined in Lori's Barn Along over at http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/  This has been so inspiring for me.   This weekend I finished block one and four.  For block one I thought the barn needed some ducks.  There is a red outline around the ducks that I thought goes well the red barn.

Block 4

This is my block 4.  I had this fabric with the little girl feeding the chickens and a girl getting away from it all reading a book.  Thank you so much Lori for all your inspiration.

Well it is getting late for me and I just may turn into a pumpkin. lol  Hope you are having a great week.

Where does the time go?

Oh boy I feel like it is a whirl wind around here.  I finished a customers quilt last weekend.    Today I was off and I just feel beat from the week of being tugged.  I feel like my brains are mush.  But I did clean up my sewing room.  It is getting harder to go in there with my asthma.  So I dusted picked up and cleaned the carpet.  I have a feeling the carpet is going to have to go.

Here is some fabric and a pattern that Betty Lou sent me from http://www.americanvintagequilts.com/
She is so sweet.  I came across some fabric in my stash and I thought of Betty Lou since she likes the Cival War era fabrics.  And Betty Lou knows how much I LOVE 30's fabric so she was so sweet to send me some out of her stash.  The pattern looks like a lot of fun to make.  I am looking forward to making it.  Thank you so much Betty Lou for being so sweet.

I have also been shopping at Erica's market Monday over at http://goldeneggvintage.blogspot.com/
My first order was sewing  notions and embroidered lace.  The second order was of Christmas goodies.  Looking at this picture I can see I should of took separate pictures.  (Sorry)   Erica has such a good eye for the cutest stuff.

Erica also included this super sweet fabric. I just love it.  All the little animals are so sweet.  Oh I am always so excited when I receive things in the mail from Erica.    Thank you so much Erica you are a total sweet heart.

Hope you have had a great Friday.

Busy Weekend

Block 3

Hello chick a dees.  It has been super busy over in my nest.  I decided to follow Lori Holt over athttp://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com Quilty Barn Along.  These barns are so much fun to make and best of all it uses your scraps.  If you know me you know I started late.  So this is the latest block, block 3.  This barn has dogs in it.

Block 2

This is my block 2 and I decided this barn needed to have bunnies in it.  If you are not doing this you need to jet over to Lori's http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com  These blocks are so much fun to make.

This weekend Warrenton opened.  This is the chandler I got for my sewing room.  I am so in love with it.
So glad I ditched my ceiling fan.  This gives way more light.  We also found some feed sacks to go in my shop http://www.donnaslavendernest.com/ so I will get those in there soon.  The best part about the feed sacks is I found some whole ones just like brand new and have never been unstitched.

Hope you have a wonderful week.
