Christmas and a Valentine Swap

Hi guys.  I am back and feeling better.  Just so tired but nothing a nap does not cure.

Just wanted to show you what I received from Brazil for Christmas.   Luciana from http://mimosdaclaralu.blogspot.com/ made me these snowmen.  They are the cutest things ever.  You can place a vase in the center.

I am just in love with the crocheted center piece she made.  I still have it out since it goes with my Valentine theme.  Thank you so much Luciana you are such a sweet heart.

Speaking of sweet hearts I joined Erica's Valentine swap over at http://goldeneggvintage.blogspot.com/ and she paired me up with Kim at http://kenward.blogspot.com/ Kim made me the cutest Valentine box.  Just look at the sweet little girl and the crape paper and glitter.

I am at awww Kim is the most talented and generous person.  Just look at all the goodies she sent me from a little doll dress, vintage hankie, rolling pin, stickers, trims, ink with red stamp pad, a little doll and it goes on.  Thank you so much Kim for the beautiful Valentine and all the sweet goodies you added to my box.  Thank you Erica for hosting this wonderful swap.  It was a lot of fun.

Hope you are having a GREAT weekend.

Not Much To Show

Oh Boy this is the 4th time for me to be sick since Thanksgiving.  It started back up Sunday afternoon.  My sweet husband had to take a day off of work because I was to dizzy to drive to go to the Doctor.  Now today is somewhat better but I just feel weak and my arms are so very heavy.

Today is our 29th wedding anniversary and guess what I gave him.  Yes the crud.  So now we can seat by each other on the couch and share.

Hope you are all well and taking your vitamin C

Much Love

How to print on your own fabric

Sometimes I can not find the printable fabric sheets you buy at JoAnn's and I do not always want the plain fabric.  Sometimes I want polka dots in the back ground.  You can purchase Steam-A-Seam 2 Lite at JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby or your local quilt store.

The sheets are 9 x 12 so I cut my fabric a little bigger so I do not get the goo on the ironing board cover.   The Steam-A-Seam 2 Lite has a 2 papers on it a front and a back.  You peel off the back and iron it on the wrong side of the fabric.

Then I turn it over and iron the front side just to make sure there are no wrinkles.  I also want to make sure it is stuck really good.   (no OCD here)  lol.

Then I square it up to 8 1/2 x 11 so that it will fit in the printer.

This is how it will look.  After I square it up I do re iron it again to make sure all the edges are all good and stuck.

On my computer to print I double click on the image I want
click print
print
pick the size of the picture you want to print
click print

This is how it will come out.   For this I go into windows and type what I want and save it to my desk top.  I make this to iron on my tags for my store.

This is a super cute image I got over at http://www.freeprettythingsforyou.com/ I will iron this on another piece of fabric and just sew along the edges.  I want to make a bag for a friends little girl and put Valentine's candy in it and maybe a doll or two.  I will have to show you when it is all done.  The back ground of this fabric is yellow with tiny white polka dots.

To set the image I put another piece of fabric on top of the image and iron it.  The heat from the iron will set the image.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend.

Friday Night With Friends

I joined in Friday night with FRIENDS at Cheryll's over at http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/  I fell like I got a lot done.  I finished quilting the surprise quilt that I can not show you yet and it might be a little bit longer.  I still have to sew the binding on and down.

My sister (Wanda) spent the whole day with me.  We did not get to get together for Christmas so this was our day.  After I finished quilting the surprise quilt I put my sister's quilt on and I got it all quilted.  She made this quilt for a 16th birthday.  She did very well I think.  As you can tell we do not have the binding on it she was going home to do that as it was getting late.

I did finish the binding on this quilt.  This is my Raggedy Ann and Andy quilt.  It is made out of a vintage sheet and it is one of my favorite things.  I quilted hearts and flowers on it.

Here is a closer look.

The yellow check is also a vintage sheet.  I just thought it went so well with this quilt.

Hope you are having a quilty day.

Hugs,
