Apron

Oh gosh I finally finished my apron.  I changed the yellow check for the red and I like it much better.   The teal elastic lace is from my shop and it matches almost perfectly.   I just had to be careful not to stretch it as I sewed.  The floral fabric is an old table cloth.   The front has three pockets I just stitched down the front twice.   This apron is one of my favorites.  

Now I would like you to meet Doxie.  This pattern was designed by my sweet friend Julie at http://ricracandpolkadots.blogspot.com/  I normally do not make animals or dolls because I am just not good at it.  I have a hard time reading patterns since I am visual I look at the pictures and try to figure it out.  But this was the easiest pattern ever.  I had no trouble following it.  Julie has been making patterns for several years and she really knows how to make them easy to read and follow.

I checked with our post office to get mailing rates for Australia and Canada.  I wanted to be able to ship flat rate internationally so I can put as much in there as possible since it is so much more expensive to ship.  If there is anyone else interested please let me know and I will be happy to check on shipping rates.

On Tuesday I had lunch with Joyce from http://youngbydesign.blogspot.com/2012/07/coaster-part-deux.html  She surprised me with this gorgeous magazine.  This magazine has the cutest stuff in it and the colors are so beautiful.  It was fun catching up with Joyce we had not talked for a couple of weeks.   Thank you so much Joyce for the gorgeous magazine I LOVE it.

I spied this beautiful pillow on the super sweet Renee's at http://myvintagemending.blogspot.com/ Etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop/MyVintageMending  I knew right away I just had to have this pillow.   The pillow is just beautiful.  Renee is so talented, you should visit her store I promise you will not be disappointed from her super cute aprons, fabric bins and pillows.

This is the back.  I love the fence and the fact that Renee embroidered on the back makes it extra special.

She included this beautiful swan hankie, it is so sweet.

Just look at what else she included.  Y'all all know my love for purple/lavender.  This table cloth fits perfectly on my kitchen table.  I am just in awww with it.  It is just so perfect.  Thank you so much Renee.

Where Bloggers Create 2012

This is where I piece quilt tops, sew and embroider.   I love my little purple feather weight for piecing.  My sweet husband had it painted purple for me.  The top screen is the TV so I can watch I Love Lucy and the bottom is the monitor for the computer for my embroidery.

Just had to show you my new shelf at the top.   This came from an old sewing machine and I had glass cut for the shelves.

Now this is where I do my quilting.  Right now the quilt that is loaded on the machine is my cowboy bear baby quilt.  Hoping to have in my shop in the next week or so.  I love my fan that is the back ground, I just love the sound of it.

This is the cutting table my sweet husband set up for me.  In the background are some of my treasures from feedsacks to rick rack.   I finished my pillow case dress lamp a few months ago.   My friend Joyce from http://youngbydesign.blogspot.com/ got me this mannequin from a store that was going out of business and my sweet hubby helped me make into a lamp for more light at my cutting table.

Let the birds sing

Rain!

It is so nice to have it rain and cool things off even if it is just for a little while.   We got some rain yesterday and this morning.  

Ok, I am trying to take better pictures but it is going to be a HUGE work in progress.  My pictures need to be much clearer.   So I tried something new and still no luck.  I changed some settings and it looked fine through the camera window and when I down load them YUK.  So I tried to fix it with one of my programs and this is what I got.  Still YUK.   Anyway these are some notions I found in out local antique shop over the weekend.  There is way more but I was trying get a good picture.   I got 2 big zip locks full of zippers, rick rack, and odds and ends.
