Sick, Mail and Thanksgiving

Oh boy it has been a crazy week.   First of all I woke up sick on Monday morning knowing that I had to be dead to miss work on a holiday week so I went in.  All I wanted to do is lay my head down on my pillow I felt achy my chest hurt etc. tried to get an appointment with my doctor but she is off on Monday so I wanted to see my second choice but they could not work me in.  So after lunch I went in and waited so they could work me in.   Waited for over 2 hours and fell asleep in the waiting room.  (Hope I did not snore) lol.  My blood pressure was up so she did an EKG it was fine so the next thing she had me do was go and get a chest x-ray.  She gave me a prescription for antibiotics.  

My sweet hubby cooked most of the Thanksgiving dinner.  He is such a good cook and I am so grateful.  Well I am feeling much better today and ready to get some things done.

I joined in one of Cheryll's swap's at http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/ Once a Season Swap and the theme this time was summer since it is summer time in Australia.  To my surprise when I open my mail box there was a gift in there for me and when I opened it I was over joyed at the mini quilt Sharon from http://lilabellelane.blogspot.com/ made me.  Oh my gosh it is filled with the cutest reproduction fabrics ever. 

The back of my mini quilt has paper doll cloths on it.  They are sweetest things.  

Just look what else she included in my package.  5 inch squares of reproduction fabrics, the cutest little fox, paper and she had the Christmas ornaments wrapped separately for Christmas.  I am so lucky to have had such a wonderful swap partner THANK YOU so much Sharon you are such a sweet heart.  Thank you Cheryll for the wonderful swaps they are so much fun.  

A couple of weeks ago Hobby Lobby had there mannequins on sale so I bought one and this one is much better than the wire one I had.  For my birthday Nancy one of my coworkers had given me this lace dress that fits her perfectly.  Nancy had given me the purple hat a few months ago as a surprise.   

Nancy also included this hand stitched quilt top and little ice skates.  Oh my gosh I was jumping up and down literally with excitement.  Nancy knows me so well and knows just what I love.  I can never thank her enough for all the treasures she finds me.  Thank you so much Nancy.

Thought I would show you the little heart needle case I made to go into one of my orders.  I had found this felt at the Quilt Festival and have been itching to make something with it.

This is the inside.  I think I should of done more to the inside it looks kinda bla.  

Hope everyone is enjoying there Saturday.  The weather is just gorgeous here makes me want to have a picnic in the back yard.

Spoiled For My Birthday

I have always wanted a Princess phone.  My sweet hubby bought this one for my birthday.  It is the perfect vintage blue and goes beautifully with the lavender walls in our bedroom.   I am in love with it and love to hear it ring.   

David took a 1/2 a day off of work to take me to lunch and bring me this beautiful cake.  That is one thing that I love is to have lunch with my David.

I had lunch with Joyce from http://youngbydesign.blogspot.com/ We had a great lunch at laMad and she surprised with these wonderful gifts.  I just love how the tree sparkles, the purple glass is my favorite and you know I just love to write on pretty paper.  Thank you so much Joyce for a great lunch and wonderful gifts.  You are so good to me.

My friend Carla surprised me with these gifts and a great lunch at Thai Cottage.  Carla made me the wool pin cushion that has the cutest of pins,  November angel and some yummy fabric.  She is so clever to put everything in the cutest Christmas tins.  Thank you so much Carla.

Oh boy and cake number 2 from the girls at work.  mmmmm! 

This weekend I have been sewing baby cloths into a quilt for a customer.  It has been so much fun.  I think it came together really cute.  It is all together except for the boarders.  I will show you as soon as I can get a picture of it.

I thought I would try this trick I read about in one of our local papers.  Well it says to shower with Dawn dish soap.  The label reads dissolves fat that is otherwise hard to remove.  GREAT.  If I do not answer the phone I'll be in the shower.  Now if I can just figure out how to use those wrinkle-free dryer sheets.

Great Birthday Weekend with Friends

David and I had a wonderful weekend with Sharon and her husband at there bay house.  Sharon and I did not get much sewing done, but I did get some blocks cut out for a customer's quilt.  This part of the beach Sharon and I where looking for beach glass.  We did not find much but it is the thrill of the hunt.  It was so relaxing.   Friday night the skies where clear so we laid a blanket on the ground and watched the stars and got caught up with each other's day to day world.  Now we are back home and back to work.

Weekends and Friends

I finished sewing the top to the surprise quilt today.  It turned out to be king sizeish.  All I need to do now is find a pretty back for it.  I made it out of 12 1/2 inch squares of floral pinks.  Ooops that all the info I can share.

Last week at shopping spree with Carla and Joyce I had a chance to buy a little fabric before it is come out.  This bundle is posy by Aneela Hoey for Moda.  Joyce at http://youngbydesign.blogspot.com/ surprised me with this.  Oh it is so super cute.  Just love the little girls.  Joyce is so sweet and always thinking of others.  You really should go and visit her blog.  She has made the cutest rug and out of t-shirts.  Super Cute.  Thank you so much Joyce I just love my new fabric.

This is Durham Anew by Brenda Riddle for Lecien.  The floral's are just beautiful I have ordered this fabric and it should arrive Februray/March 2013.  Boy that just seems like forever.

Friday was a day of sewing and quilting with Carla.  On Saturday I had to work until 2ish.  Sharon picked me up from work and we went to Quilt Festival and dinner.  It was so much fun.  You know I just do not think you can ever get enough of all that goodness.
