Dreams do come true

To make a long story short.  One day at work I was telling one of my co-workers Nancy about a dream I had.  It was a dream in my old neighbor hood when I was in kindergarten.  David and I had found a garage sale and there was this women that was always ahead of me.  She even bought a purse with a hole in it.  Well I was looking for an old purple hat in my dream to go on my mannequin in my sewing room. There were hats in my dreams but this women was buying them all up.

Tuesday of this week my dream came true.  Look what Nancy surprised me with.  Yes this precious purple hat.  I am in love with this hat.  I have found some hats in antique stores but they where never purple and they where always pricey so had to leave them behind.  Thank you so much Nancy for making my dreams come true.  You are a total sweet heart.

Thrifting

Hello Chickadee's.  I got a little thrifting in this weekend.  We started at an estate sale which was really more like a furniture sale and nothing to write home about.   Met my friend Sharon and we found a couple of garage sales but did not find anything.  So my husband took me a few towns over and I found this super sweet wall pocket.  She was in the window and I just could not leave her behind.  I do not know much about her other than she is from Japan.

I also found this plastic Santa.  He was a really good bargain at $1.

I finished quilting the cowgirl quilt and got the binding sewn on it all I have to do is the hand sewing.  I will show you more when I am all finished.  Got my once a season swap done and mailed out today.  While I was waiting in line at the post office I realized I did not take pictures of all the goodies I made.  Darn it.

Oh boy I have to tell you about the cutest image ever and it is over at Keren's at http://www.freeprettythingsforyou.com/  You must pay here a visit.  She is so talented and has the cutest images ever.

Hope y'all are staying cool.

Friday Finds

I have been watching this little Puss and Boots creamer at our local resale shop.  As you can tell  I have caved and bought it.  For a resale shop I thought it was way to much.  It is just to cute to keep leaving it behind.

I also found this little Fire King creamer. Got it all cleaned up and it is like new.

The swam planter was a total steal.  The tag said it is McCoy but there are no markings.  It is all good I would have bought it anyway.

I love vintage glasses.  These are another thing I had been eyeing and just could not leave behind this time either.

Susie from http://littlesusiehomemaker-lilsusiehomaker.blogspot.com/ and I exchanged jams.  I made peach and she sent me choke berry.  I have not ever heard of that.  But it is over the moon with goodness.  Susie is so sweet she also sent me this lovely tea towel.   So super cute.  Thank you so much my dear sweet friend.

Oh my gosh I just have to show you this pin cushion I bought from Trish at http://www.etsy.com/shop/natnkat?ref=em  This pin cushion is very well made and is stuffed with crushed walnut shells.

I have the cowgirl horse quilt almost all the on the machine.  That is my project for this afternoon to get it loaded and start quilting it.

Hugs,

YeeHaw Cowgirl

Hello chickadee's.  Thought I would show you the cowgirl version of my quilt.  This one is a little bigger since it is for a 2 year old little girl.  My sweet husband held it up for me.  Sorry once again the picture is not all that and does not do it justice.

This is the center with a up close view.  Of course I had to add hearts.

Can not believe tomorrow is already Monday.  This weekend has truly gone way to  fast.  Hope y'all have a wonderful week.

YeeHaw Quilt

Hi Y'all.  I finally finished my cowboy baby quilt and it is in my Etsy store.  YEAH!!   This quilt so much fun to make.  I added a couple of stars one on the upper right of the cowboy bear and one on the lower left.  So sorry about the pictures.  I am still struggling with taking clear pictures.  There was not even a breeze outside.  So I thought I could get a picture.  Pinned the quilt on the cloths line and the breeze started.  What's up with that?

Here is a closer look of my little cowboy bear.  To bad my baby boy is 22 years old.   Shhh do not tell him he is still my baby boy

I just wanted to show you how I quilted it.

This is the back.  You can see the quilting a lot better.  Of course I had to use polka dots.  The back is some of the Lecien basic's in my shop.  I just love pin dots.

Well this weekend is going by way to fast.  I am making another cowboy quilt except this one is a order from a girl at work and it is more girly for her granddaughter.  I will show you pictures of it soon.  Hopefully I can finish piecing it tomorrow.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Hugs

Hot Summer Days

I have been busy in the yard off and on all weekend.  The sun will just melt you.  This time of year the plants go on sale and it is when I buy them.  You are never going to believe I got knock out roses from $2 to $4 a piece.  SCORE!  I dug up my day lilies and planted some bushes I got on sale 70% off.  It is time to have low maintenance  in some areas.  The weeds are horrible and make the day lily bed look bad.   Got them all planted in time and ran out of mulch.  While I was cleaning up you could see the rain coming.   I got lucky as I was getting in the shower it started to pour.   So glad it rained we really need it and it kissed my newly planted plants.

One on my sweet friends Carla and I had lunch about a week and a half ago and look what she brought me. Oh yes that is a feed sack and I am in love.  It is just gorgeous.   She had bought an extra Vintage Style magazine and shared it with me.  There are some really cute things in there.  When I got home and was unloading my bag of goodies I spied some bobbins for my quilt machine.  Thank you so much Carla you are so sweet.

Look what I got in the mail.  Amy from http://www.aquiltingsheep.com/ sent these to me.  They are so sweet with the lavender and yellow embroidery.  Amy you know what I like.  You really need to visit her blog and see the quilt she is making.  Thank you so much Amy you are a sweet heart.

It is starting to look a lot like Christmas.  I am in Cheryll's at http://santasackswap.blogspot.com/ Santa Sack swap.  You can visit her and see what everyone is doing.   Nana B. at http://stitchingbythebeach.blogspot.com/ is my swap partner and just look at what she sent me.  I am having to have a lot of control not to peek and if you know me you know that is hard for me.  But it is all going to be worth it at Christmas to have wonderful SURPRISES.  Thank you so much Anne for all your sweetness.

Just take a look at these Christmas treasures.  Erica at http://goldeneggvintage.blogspot.com/ was having having a sale for her friends.   I got the chance to buy these.  I adore each and every piece.  Thank you so much Erica.

Well back to work tomorrow.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Hugs,
