On Friday Carla and I went antiquing.  We had a blast.  Found a sweet little restaurant that had the best burgers.  I got these Swanie salt and pepper shakers.  At least I think they are Swanie?   (I am not sure how to spell it either) giggles.   Got them at a really good price.  ( almost a steal )  They looked like they  had been in the store window for a while by the way the tag looked.

Next door was a resale shop.  Everything that was over a dollar was 1/2 price.   I got these cute little milk glass saucers in a bundle.   I also got some crocheted dollies for a $1 a piece.  Sorry I can not show them to you they are soaking in the sink.  The fabric in the back ground is something I just got in the mail from fabric. com.  It is a piece by Tanya Whelan Sugar Hill.  I so love it.

On Saturday David took me antiquing again.  I think it is the American Pickers that keep me hooked.   giggles   Oh boy I found these Swanie pig salt and pepper shakers.   You are never going to believe I got the pair for $12.   Just so happens one of the little pigs has a slight chip on the top of his ear.   You can hardly tell.  I am really not a pig collector or a collector of salt and pepper shakers.   But there is something about these Swanie pigs that are just so cute to me.  I am not sure if it is there sweet little eyes or if they remind me of my grandmother and great grandmother??

These two pieces of sweet fabrics just came in the mail this week also.  Again from fabric.com.  They are A is for Annabelle.  I just fell in love with them and could not resist them.  Not sure what I am going to make with them.  Maybe I will just drool over them for a while.

This is a late Christmas gift from my sister.   This is a phone table we had while we where growing up.  We even carved on it while we where talking on the phone.   When we where cleaning up my dad's house it was still there by the phone.  My sister took it and cleaned it up for me as a SURPRISE Christmas gift.    It was so sweet of her to do that.  Thank you so much Wanda for doing that for me.

We are finally getting some much needed rain.  I just love to hear the rain on the windows.  We can not hear it all that well on the roof unless it is really coming down.

I was in a Valentine apron swap Sue from http://countrypleasures.blogspot.com/ was our swap momma.  Thank you Sue for being an awesome swap momma.

This is the beautiful apron I received from Betty.  Betty does not have a blog yet.  Just look at all those wonderful polka dots.

My sweet friend Carla surprised me with this pincushion.   It is just beautiful.  Love the colors and the milk glass.  She knows just what I love.

Happy Valentine's Day

Thought I would share a few of my Valentiney quilts with you.  Some of you may have already seen them.  

I wanted to show the the back of the top rose quilt.  So you can see the quilting.

This quilt is out of one my Darlene Zimmerman books.

This is my very first quilt I pieced.  I have it displayed on my grandmother's bed.

I found this quilt pattern in a magazine.  So sorry I can not remember which one.  It has been a while since I made this one.

I think this is a Quilt Soup pattern.

I finally got a picture of my Dresden plate quilt I found on Friday.  The pink back ground fabric is 2 pieces of fabric pieced together.

The Dresden plate's are made of some feed sacks and I guess clothing or scraps.  I do recognize some of the pieces as feed sack.

There are no centers.  So I am thinking about what color to make the center Red, Purple?  I am looking for suggestions.  What do you think?

Last Friday I found these vintage Valentines.  These Valentines move.  I am not sure how vintagey they are.  I do not remember having Valentines like this.  But maybe it is because we did not buy this kind.  I am not sure.  No matter they are super cute.

My day started off with taking our sweet Duchess to the vet to have a spot checked out.  All is well with our sweet girl.  While I was out I did some thrifting.   I found a feed sack oh yes a whole one  and a cuttable piece of chenille.  You are never going to believe what else I found.   Yes another quilt top but this time it is a Dresden plate quilt.  It had a really nice price tag.  Just could not leave it behind.  Just love bargain's.   I have not had a chance to take a picture of it yet.

I have been making other things but I can not show you yet.  They are for gifts and my friends read my blog.   I am a little behind on making my Valentine gifts.  Got a little caught up today.  My goal is to get some things out into tomorrow's mail.  All I have to remember is that the post office here closes at 11:00.

I can not believe tomorrow is already Monday.  This weekend went way to fast.  Friday I finished quilting my paper doll quilt all that is left is to do is sew on the binding and sew it down.   Did not get any sewing done

on Saturday had to work.  Uhggg  After work my sweet David and I meet Joyce and Mr. B from http://youngbydesign.blogspot.com/ for dinner.  We have a blast and we have great laughs when we get together.  When we got home I had a wonderful surprise in the mail.  I joined a Initial Heart swap at http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/  My partner was Vickie at http://www.a-creativenotion.com/2011/11/wednesday-blog-update.html   Just look at the beautiful embroidery Vickie sent

What is your inspiration?

What inspires you?   Well for me there are several things.  I love to look through quilting magazines and books.  Oh so much fun to learn new things.  I am always looking for something different to create.  

I also love going to a good quilt store that is loaded with ideas.  One that you can just drool over all the cuteness.

I just wish I could be home more to create.
