I know it is not July 1st until tomorrow but I am so excited I could not wait to show you.  It is time for our Santa Sack Exchange.  Joyce from http://youngbydesign.blogspot.com/ is my swap partner.  I am so fortunate that Joyce and I work in the same city and we get to go to lunch from time to time.  Joyce is a total sweet heart and I am enjoying getting to now her.  You should visit her blog.  This is what Joyce gave me and I just love my bag.  Joyce went to alot of work can you see the beautiful quilting.  Thank you so much Joyce I love love it.

We are suppose to send each other 2 gifts a month.  Now for the hard part we can not open them until Christmas.  I feel like a little kid again and I can not wait until Christmas.

This is the bag I gave Joyce.  I feel bad I did not even quilt it because I was so worried about the draw string and how I was going to do it so you can just pull both ends and it pulls together.  Thank goodness for the internet I learned something new.

This is what I put in her sack.

Thank you so much Cheryll http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/
for organizing this swap.

Well until tomorrow.

To all of my wonderful blog friends.  I hope you did not misunderstand me in my last post.  If so I apologize.  I was on the computer a big part of the day trying to learn how to alter a picture.  Did not even have much
time to visit all of my wonderful friends in blog land.  But the good news is I think I figured it out so maybe next time it will not take as long.  I always look forward to seeing what everyone is doing and meeting new people.  My work days are long this week so I will be back on Friday.

                                                                               Hugs,

Well there is only one picture to show you today.  I have the Santa Sack Swap all put together for the first round.  I will show you pictures after it is received.  Made a zipper pouch the picture will have to come later for that too.  Oh boy the suspense hehe.  Yesterday afternoon I worked cleaning out our front flower beds.  Since we got a little rain things are a mess again.  Today I have been on the computer what feels like all day.  I was trying to alter an image.  Boy that is time consuming.  Anyway it is done for another day.

Here are some of the blocks sewn together of my Blissful Day quilt.  I am using Swell instead just love that cottagey look.  Not done sewing them and then I have to cut slits in the top of the curved part.  This pattern seems like it should go together fast if I could just stick to it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

The flower quilt is finished and I am so happy with it.  (Sorry the picture is not all that.)  You can not even tell the bows are purple.  I got the binding sewn on so now all I have to do is sew it down by hand. By the way I choose the same color of purple for the binding as the bows.  Image that. hehe  The back is the same color yellow as the sashing.  This time I decided on a plan back.  I am pretty slow at doing the binding since I only do it while I watch TV at night.  When I am done I will take a better picture.

I think I have shown you this before.  This is the way I label my all of my quilts.  My machine has letters in it so it make's it easy to do.  I found this idea a few years ago in a Fons and Porter magazine.

I made this reversible bag for Nancy one of my co-workers out of some of the Thimbleberries fabrics I had.  It came out really nice for my first try.  I found this pattern on the internet a few years ago.  I tried to find it again so I could share it with you but I could not find it again.

Oh my I am so happy one of the feed sacks I bought the last time had some little stains all on it.  So I put some lemon juice on it and let it sit in the sun for awhile.  Then I soaked it in Oxy Clean there
are no more stains.  I could not believe it worked.  Wha Hoo!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

I picked these roses out of our back yard.  They look better in the kitchen than they will after our 104 degree sun hits them.  We have been watering all day long.  WOW it is hot and our ground has cracks in it I am not sure we can water enough.

I did quilt a little on my flower quilt but then my ADD kicked in.  I have been wanting to make this quilt ever since I had seen it.  It is in the Quilt magazine Feb/March 2011.  The name of the quilt is Bonnie's Blissful Day by Bonnie Olaveson.  She used her line of fabric Bliss.  Since I do not have much of it I am going to use Swell by the Urban Chicks.  I have a couple of charms packs that is going to work great.  I have cut out most of the pieces.   Maybe next weekend I can start sewing them together.  You know how it is quilt a little, sew a litte and read the computer a little.

I just love the roses and dots in this fabric.  I hope everyone has a Wonderful week.

Good morning chickadee's.  I decided to pick 2 winner's since I have so much fabric.  I let my sweet Duchess pick the winner's.  I pick the first two she put her little nose on.  The lst winner is Donna at http://donna-sugarspicesouthernlife.blogspot.com/  Donna please email your address and I will get your box in the mail this week.

Cheryll at http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/ was the second winner.  Cheryll please send me your email address as well.  I will also get your package in the mail this week as well.

Ever since Sunday afternoon my week has been crazy.  So yesterday my David took off and took me antiquing/quilt shop hopping.  We decided to head towards Austin.  It seems like before we set out we plan where we can test the bar-b-q next.  So our first stop was Brenham.  He took me to the quilt store and there are a few antique shops there.  But nothing I was interested in there.  We went on and stopped at a few road side antique stores and we didn't find anything again.  Oh boy but when we got into Giddings there where 2 quilt stores the first one was a little pricey the second one was off the beaten path but it was a great shop bought a few things there.  Found some older fabric that I had missed out on when the fabric was out so that made me happy.  We got back in the car and headed to Elgin, Texas  this is where the bar-b-q was.
It was great.  But we made a list of what we think is the best if you are ever in Texas.  Start out going to Lockart, Texas the bar-b-q at Smity's is the best,   Luling, Texas the bar-b-q is at Luling City Market, then Swing Door in Richmond, Texas.  Swing Door is about 25 minutes away for us so we go there more often.  The others are and hour and a half to two hours away but it is worth it.

Well I forgot all about the Friday night sew in lastnight.  I got home late so I do not have anything to show you.

I also wanted to tell you I found some great little vintage pictures last Saturday at http://peggylovesvintage.blogspot.com/  That is where I got the little girl at the top of the page.  It is a great website you should take a look.

I am going to do some more quilting on my flower quilt.  My hopes was to finish it last weekend but I guess that is what happens when life gets in the way.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I did a little quilting today.  Quilt a little and come get on the computer and back and forth.  Well some of you will probably remember this quilt.  I got the blocks for Christmas from Nancy my secret Santa.  But it looks like I never showed you a picture with the borders on it or the rest of the sashing between the rows.

This is a picture of the quilting I am doing on it.  I have been in a feathers mood.  The border fabrics are a Glenna Hailey line Fun With Feed Sacks.  I just love this fabric and it completes my yellow and purple quilt.
I will show you the finished quilt when it is all done  My friend Carla gave me the idea to keep a quilt on the frame and sew in between times.  So no telling when I will finish it.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

I tried to post yesterday but we finally got a little weather and it knocked me off the computer.  We had gone to a graduation party yesterday and my car said it was 103.   After we got home we could hear thunder and it rained for like 15 minutes.  It has been so dry and we have not been able to water enough. Well enough about the weather.  I have to show you what I made for my friends daughter for graduation.  While I was visiting Flo at http://butterflyquilting.blogspot.com/ she was showing us some of the bags that she had made and this is one of them it is called Phoebe Bag and to find the pattern visit Artsy Crafty Babe at http://www.rebekalambert.com/artsycrafty_babe/  She has wonderful ideas.  Thanks to both of you for sharing.

When I got home I had been playing with some scraps.  I decided to make this crazy scrappy doo block out of some 1030's scraps that I had been saving.  This block turned out to be 10 1/2 inches.  But the more I look at it the more I am not sure I like it.  Maybe I should try another one before I decide?  What do you think?

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
