Well I hope you guys can help my stupid self.  Some how I added myself as a follower not wanting to.  (Whoops)  I just noticed it and can not figure out how to get myself off.  Do not now how I did it.  Help!

Any how I have to show you what David brought home for me.  It is the most wonderful purple bike.  That is what I did yesterday.  I had so much fun.  But boy are my legs sore today.  I am not able to ride it today the wind is blowing so hard that it is blowing dust out of the fields.  Well that is keeping me indoors to sew a little.

Look what else I found.  I was cleaning a dresser that I have loads of fabric in and I came across these mug mats.  So I finished sewing the binding on these two so I could show you.  They are made out of Thimbleberries fabric from I can not even remember when.  They will be fun to use this spring/summer.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week and that it goes by fast.   So that you can do what ever it is that you love to do next weekend.  ttfn

I have been working on a grandmothers flower garden quilt.  I am going to do it in all purple reproduction fabrics.  Since I do not work on it much I do not have many blocks.  I am doing the English paper piecing method.  They say to leave the papers in until you are ready to sew it all together.  Pretty much I only work on this as I am watching TV or traveling.  Well you can tell I have not been doing much traveling by how many I have finished.  This is all done by hand.  You sew tiny little whip stitches.  I found this project as I was reorganizing my sewing room.  It sure seems to get cluttered fast.  Oh my I also found a quilt top I have been looking for.  Do not know what I was thinking but I had it folded in between some fabrics.  I will have to show in another post.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week. ttfn

You would not believe what we did this morning.  Sharon and I took our husbands to an estate sale.  Oh we had so much fun.  David is awesome to take along he always finds neat stuff.  The only thing I am  so not is a morning person (waaa) but it was worth getting up early for.

I found this plate with tiny purple flowers.  No price was on it but when you check out they will price it.  I think there magic number was $10.  so I bought it.  I love the pink ribbon around the edges.  Also I am not sure if you can see it to well but both of the handles have a little gold on them.

These bowls have a story they where with other plates, cups etc. as I walked into the house.  Thought they would look good with my Franciscan Ivy dishes.  (like on the I Love Lucy Show)  Only $5 a bowl.   Well like a dummy I walked off and did not pick them up.  But later I found that the man we where talking to in line waiting to get in bought them.  He was so nice I asked him if I could buy them since I had past them up and he was nice enough to sell them to me for what he bought them for.  Oh but it gets better I did not take cash because the where going to take MC/Visa well Sharon was nice enough to loan me the $20.  So now I am a proud owner of these bowls.

We also found this jar of buttons.  Remember Bordens and Elsie the cow when we where little.  Well I just had to have this little bottle.  I took a picture below so you can see Elsie better.

Then we came across this chenille bed spread for $20 it is like new no strains.  It is perfect.  When I bought it I thought I would make a jacket or pillows out of it.  Now I just hate to cute it up.  So maybe I should see how it looks on my grandmothers bed.  At the end of March it will be time to go to Warrenton.  That is loads of fun.  Oh I must tell you that I ran into my Kindergarten teacher at this estate sale.  Can you believe she remembers me.  I have only seen her a few times and she looks the same to me.  It must be nice not to really age that much.  She must have good genes?   If you have been treasure hunting let me know I love to know what neat things you find.  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  ttfn

Happy Valentine's Day

This is what I worked on last night.  I got all the papers basted down.  So now I am  hand sewing them together.  This is going to be the center of The Circle of Friends quilt.  I worked on it some more this morning so I got a few more pieces added.  Then we made homemade carmels and heart shaped cookies.  I also worked on Autumn's wedding quilt.  There are like a couple hundered 1 1/2 inch squares I am having to sew on.  And it makes me sleepy.  Then of course it is nap time.

.

This is a far as I have got.  Maybe I can finish while I am watching TV tonight.
Hope everyone gets to be with there loved ones on Valenteines.

Happy Saturday.  Here it is warming up and there is not a cloud in the sky.  Making of a beautiful day.  It makes me want to go out side and work in my flower beds or read a book.  Well yesterday my sewing machine did not even get turned on.  I ran errands all day long with my son getting him ready to go back to school.

Last year I made this skirt out of a pair of old blue jeans and a vintage table cloth.  I just love it but I am trying to decide if I should leave the hem raggy or I have some light weight knitted trim to go on the bottom.  It is suppose to be frayed but I think it needs dressing up.  What do you think?

Made this tea towel a few weekends ago.  It is a Late Bloomer Quilts pattern Sweet Hearts.  I just love hearts and rick rack.

This tea towel is made from the left overs of my skirt.  I think these small roses where the border of the table cloth.  It is so pretty hated to waste any of it.  Still have a little left and there are faint stains here and there but that is what gives it that old look and  that makes me love it even more.  Well I had put my Circle of Friends quilt aside so I think I will work it that a little bit today.  Hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy a little sunshine.

We had a beautiful sunset tonight.  On my home from work my car said it was 37 degrees.  But it gets colder in the middle of the night.  That means it is time to cuddle.

You can see our little pond.  One day we will make it bigger.  It would be fun to have some ducks running around.

I know that these pictures where already posted, but this time they where scanned in.  We learn something new everyday.  So if any of you would like to print them to make pretties you are more than welcome to.  The other Valentines where taken by my camera and did not come out so good.  I am just wanting to share the goodness.

As you know I have been talking about Autumn's wedding quilt.  Sewed on it off and on last weekend.   You know I have that ADD thing get side track easily and have way to may projects going.  I am sure you guys know what I mean.  Thought you would like to see my precious niece Autumn and her fiance.  They are such a happy couple.  She is in the Army going to come home soon.  Can not wait.  We are all so proud of her.  Well David DVRed The Big Bang Theory so we are going to cuddle up in front of the TV for awhile.  Hope everyone is keeping warm.

Today was a beautiful day we had clear sky's and it was about 60 degrees.  To bad I had to work and could not go thrifting.

Thought I would show you one of my valentine quilts. Well probably my only one for now. According to the date on my picture I finished it in 2007.  It was a pattern out of a Fons and Porter magazine not sure how long ago.  All I can remember is that it is a breast cancer quilt.  The fabric I used for the border I just love love.  David is trying to hold up the quilt.  I think it will fit a full size bed.  I am sorry you can not see all of it his arms where getting tired.  He is such a trooper.

I have a closer shot hoping you can see the quilting pattern I did on it.  Of course I quilted hearts.  I love things with hearts on them.  Well tonight is movie night.  Not sure what we are going to watch yet but I can smell the popcorn. mmmmmm

Hope everyone is staying warm and getting to sew on some projects.  Well we did get a little snow? sleet?
but it was sometimes last night.  Most of it has melted but there is still ice in the grass.  We did get a snow day at work. Wahoo.  David had to go to work and what takes him about 20ish minutes took him an hour this morning due to the ice on the roads.  You know we are not used to driving in that stuff in this part of Texas.  Tomorrow it is my turn to work (Saturday).  I am thinking I may ask David to drive me in and maybe we can stop for some breakfast.  Thought you would like to see all the snow we got. hehehe.

You can barley see anything white in this picture.

Well I finally finished my Valentine apron.  You know bias tape is not really my friend no matter if I make it or buy it.  Could not decide if I should but a pocket on it or not.  After thinking about it I thought I would put a purple one on it to match the bias tape.  At the top I had these cute little lavender heart buttons.  Thought it would dress it up.  The fabric that used had candy hearts on it by Timeless Treasures.  I still have some left maybe I should make a scrappy quilt.  But first I need to get shagging on Autumn's wedding quilt.  I sew on it a bit each day.  But there are always other things I would like to make as well.  I have until May and you know that will be here before we now it.   Stay warm.

It has been in the 20's here in South East Texas burrrr.  The weather guy is saying we are going to have sleet and snow tomorrow and Friday.  But today the wind is still blowing us away.  You know usually it is so hot here.  I can not wait to see if it snows.  Snowday?  We do not usually have to worry about that.  Lets see what happens.  We usually go and visit the snow.  And I think that is the way I like it that way there is no shoveling or plowing off the sidewalks or the drive.  This is going to be a great weekend to stay inside and sew.  Hope everyone stays warm.
